Export do not have any custom duty..hence Indian govt does not get any money from the trade..on the other hand ..Bangladesh govt looses import duty by allowing the smuggling to continue...instead of importing from a country, which actually trades Cows or meeting there live stock demand internally.

Plus there is religious sentiment, which goes along with export Cows for slaughter.

India govt. can gain Forex by legalizing it which she is not getting in case of smuggling, It will also solve your border issues to some extent. Re religious sentiment - people are already selling cows to Bangladesh

It is not a smuggled or banned item in Bangladesh. You can buy cows from India or Mars and pay 500 Tk flat duty and you are good to go. There is no fuss..

LOL..Whatever extra you are paying on the cows..I can assure you, it is not import duty, and it is sure as hell not going to your govt.
Or do you also pay import duty on cow which are bred in Bangladesh ..how does your govt get to know ..which/how many cows are being smuggled from India and which has been bred in Bangladesh?

Smuggling is called smuggling not because the item being smuggled in banned in the country. For examples if you were to take gold bought from India to Bangladesh with paying import duty in Bangladesh. Even though gold is not a banned item, the gold inmorted in such a way, will be considered smuggled.
