Someone should tell this PM that statehood require some responsibilities. His bravado and stand is commendable but he is not a college boy. Diplomacy f**g diplomacy is the name of something..
How big is your begging bowl? They are already doing it but previously they kept things under the carpet as they needed us for their operations in Afghanistan. now they dont need us anymore. we are back in 1990 and remember how they kept silent on Pak's nuclear development during the eighties as they needed us and just after the russian with drawl from afghanistan we faced US sanctions. do read some history.
To some extent I agree with you. On what basis we are confronting US in such a way? In reality we as a nation are nothing more then corrupt beggars.
New Recruit
Made a bit of correction. I hope you don't mind it.Believe me, Sellouts will do anything for America.
Its not just the media. I was in the USMC and the higher up officers have been talking about their frustrations with Pakistan, I got out in 2015, I can only estimate that this frustration has grown. I can understand Pakistan's alliance with the Taliban, it wants to ultimately take out India, I get it. but Pakistan is at a very vunerable position and ill guarantee that the USA will take advantage of it to punish Pakistan. The hatred isnt just propaganda, officers I personally who had worked with Pakistani officers say that they are frustrated.Despite all the talk here. Lets be pragmatic. USA is still a superpower and has powerful friends. Best for Pakistan to work with them against OBL AQ types. This doesn't require permenant USA military assets in Pakistan. OBL AQ types are not good for Pakistan's interests.
They are trying to ruin Pakistan's image in the west. Western media is very anti-pakistan.
Agreed. But for logistical reasons USA could not have a complete break with Pakistan in 2015. Same today. And Shah Mahmood Qureishi seems like an actor concentrating more on his accent and posture then his words.
The whole nation is chest-thumping over the 'Absolute No'
the whole nation will be crying IF/WHEN America and its allies simply disallow remittance to be sent to Pakistan, reduce imports from Pakistan, ban travel to/from Pakistan, freeze Pakistan's assets....
I disagree...because this is a "calculated risk" taken after getting green light from "regional powers" to back Pakistan in certain situations... I mean (and I hope) that the -ve consequences of YES vs. "Absolutely Not" were carefully examined before (since the question was expected) and after the interview...
