Coup D'etat in Pakistan post 'Absolutely Not' interview?

.
Someone should tell this PM that statehood require some responsibilities. His bravado and stand is commendable but he is not a college boy. Diplomacy f**g diplomacy is the name of something..

Yes.
The question was carefully worded to bring Al Qaida as a target. It was a bait. Imran Khan SHOULD know that AQ is a globally hated, UN-proscribed terrorist organization and the answer should have been a 'NO' in a different way. Something like: 'We too our concerns about terrorism and so bring us the intelligence and we will act on that ourselves... blah blah'.
The whole nation is chest-thumping over the 'Absolute No' and the whole nation will be crying IF/WHEN America and its allies simply disallow remittance to be sent to Pakistan, reduce imports from Pakistan, ban travel to/from Pakistan, freeze Pakistan's assets.... It's the Law of the Jungle in the world. The UN is a toothless organization and the Chinese would advise what they had advised to Pakistan after 9/11: Work with the Americans to salvage the situation. Far better naturally endowed countries like Venezuela, Iran and even Russia have felt the effects of America's NON-UN backed sanctions then Pakistan can ever bear!!!

When it comes to the foreign policy, I miss someone like Khursheed Kasuri in the seat. Imran Khan is too blunt, too honest. And Shah Mahmood Qureishi seems like an actor concentrating more on his accent and posture then his words.

It's a pressure tactic! The USA knows her limitations vis-à-vis Pak. And, the world is changing damn fast to her detriment. It's not about Afganistan, AQ or anything else; it's about to gauge how far Pak is ready to go for the China-Russia axis that is smelling blood.....

Antagonizing the countries like Pak and Turkey beyond a certain point brings in diminishing returns....

Well done Team Pak! You've figured out the mindset of the Ehl-i Dunya.....

. .
Not gonna lie but its a tough decision for Pakistan.

.
They are already doing it but previously they kept things under the carpet as they needed us for their operations in Afghanistan. now they dont need us anymore. we are back in 1990 and remember how they kept silent on Pak's nuclear development during the eighties as they needed us and just after the russian with drawl from afghanistan we faced US sanctions. do read some history.

To some extent I agree with you. On what basis we are confronting US in such a way? In reality we as a nation are nothing more then corrupt beggars.
How big is your begging bowl?

. .
Get out of graylist. Revert status of kashmir. Waive loans.

Believe me Pakistan will do anything for america

. . .
Despite all the talk here. Lets be pragmatic. USA is still a superpower and has powerful friends. Best for Pakistan to work with them against OBL AQ types. This doesn't require permenant USA military assets in Pakistan. OBL AQ types are not good for Pakistan's interests.

They are trying to ruin Pakistan's image in the west. Western media is very anti-pakistan.
Its not just the media. I was in the USMC and the higher up officers have been talking about their frustrations with Pakistan, I got out in 2015, I can only estimate that this frustration has grown. I can understand Pakistan's alliance with the Taliban, it wants to ultimately take out India, I get it. but Pakistan is at a very vunerable position and ill guarantee that the USA will take advantage of it to punish Pakistan. The hatred isnt just propaganda, officers I personally who had worked with Pakistani officers say that they are frustrated.

Agreed. But for logistical reasons USA could not have a complete break with Pakistan in 2015. Same today.

The USA would have saved itself much trouble if it only focused on AQ after 9/11. Redoing the the political dispensation in Afghanistan and then pushing deeper strategic ties with India would not go down well in Islamabad. Add to it the RAW/NDS proxy war against Pakistan using ISIS-K......and a Pakistani response was guaranteed. The outcome of which is being seen this year.

The USA inserted itself in a regional conflict that it could not resolve and picked the losing side. Until Kashmir issue is resolved, USA can simply not have both India and Pakistan as allies. The Chinese understand this much better then the Americans. USMC officers should be mad at the strategists in Washington, IMO.

I disagree with the words part ... I mean when he says:

"Dekhiyey foreign policy koi gudda guddi ka khel nahi hey, humein bohat aetiyaat ke saath sab hum-khayaal mumalik ko Afghanistan mein aman qayem karney ke liyey saath lekar chalna hoga...or jahan tak Pakistani airbases ko us ke istemaal mein deney ka sawaak hey to (mein nahi kehta) aapne hamarey PM Sahib ka "Absolutely Not" ka moakhaff sun or dekh liya hoga... is se ziyaada mein is barey mein koi baat nahi karna chahta..." :D

The whole nation is chest-thumping over the 'Absolute No'

I agree ... and to be honest with you "unka haq banta hey"... I think this is the first time they have heard "Absolutely Not" from their leader for ....

the whole nation will be crying IF/WHEN America and its allies simply disallow remittance to be sent to Pakistan, reduce imports from Pakistan, ban travel to/from Pakistan, freeze Pakistan's assets....

I disagree...because this is a "calculated risk" taken after getting green light from "regional powers" to back Pakistan in certain situations... I mean (and I hope) that the -ve consequences of YES vs. "Absolutely Not" were carefully examined before (since the question was expected) and after the interview...

I certainly hope you are right and I am wrong. You and had butted heads in some other thread and we are still apart. I don't think Pakistan will completely deny America. The concessions given by Pakistan will be revealed decades later.

Pakistan's economy is dependent upon America and its allies. In my opinion, unless the Pakistani nation is willing to eat the 'proverbial grass' to suffer the economic consequences of a categorical denial of America's requests, Pakistan will provide some facility to the Americans. A nation like Pakistan which imports billions of $ of edible oil and yet it's Prime Minister still kisses $ss of a spoilt brat Saudi Prince (MBS) by driving the Prince himself from the airport just to get a couple of billions is a vulnerable nation.

I am backing Pakistan and Imran Khan but Pakistan better comes with its' version of a "Juche" philosophy as the last resort!! Pakistan should be prepared for huge economic costs because of sanctions, remittance obstacles, assets freezes, expulsions of labor... its potentially a long list of actions but I DON'T foresee the actions like those against Iran simply because Pakistan is NOT against the United States at all. Anyway, every Pakistani must 'game' the scenario and come up with Pakistan's own "Juche" plan. In that regard, Pakistan has certain distinct advantages unlike North Korea: Pakistan has a large young population, a long history of free enterprise, a large diaspora, a long crop growing season, stronger military....

In short, to be relatively immune from foreign economic blackmails, Pakistan must have a "Juche" the last resort plan.
