Countdown to Iran retaliation against Israel strike?

Many Iranians reportedly killed in missile strike in Syria

Another semi-official news agency, ISNA, said the strike killed 18 Iranians, including a commander, in a suburb of the central city of Hama. It cited "local sources and activists" for its report.

This is from ISNA. Nothing about Iranians killed. They say the attack was probably carried by UK and US from their bases at the border of Jordan due to the fact that Syrian forces are violating their so called red line which is crossing the Euphrates to the east.

Still waiting for that retaliation... oh wait there was one but from Israel again, while the IRGC get their butts kicked. IRI's count down to revenge is stuck between "wait it will come but due to some political reasons it will take some time" and never. All talk and nothing else.

Waitiiiiiiinnnngggggg.

Tomorrow you'll say waitiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggg again. Sorry Iran's retaliation doesn't fit into your diary.

It took 11 days for Iran to respond to ISIS' attack on Tehran. We ended up launching 7 ballistic missiles at them. So don't be surprised if Iran bides its time responding to Israel. We're not like Saudi's juvenile prince who kidnaps prime ministers and invades Yemen. Iran's retaliation will be measured, calculated and patient.

Then what's the point of bragging that it's coming, as IRI officials have done. If it's deliberate, and strategic, then perhaps it's better to say nothing, instead of the bravado that IRI will annihilate Jerusalem. Also, IRI's assets are limited in Syria, thus the options. Israel has a clear view of IRI's activities, so it seems, based on the attacks on IRI's positions and installations in recent weeks. If IRI is that exposed in Syria, how will that retaliation materialize? An attack on Jews in another country? I hope not.
There was a time that Hizbullah card was effective, but it seems that has changed as well.

Signalling and reputation are important. The enemy must not think it can act without a response or else they will further escalate. It seems Iran initially tried to warn Israel not to escalate further or else the response would be harsher.

Also, IRI's assets are limited in Syria, thus the options

IR has a number of options and they don't even have to be directly to Israel (whether by Hezbollah it Hamas or whatever). One option may simply be to up the tempo in Syria. You should know that there is one small pocket near Damascus almost completely re-taken and there are preparations to liberate a large pocket in North Hama. Given the recent Syrian army performances, these should be firm victories. The whole point of these Israeli attacks is because they are desperate and want to provoke a reaction by Iran. They are losing the war in Syria and it is preferable for them if the situation spirals out of Iran's control.

Winning the Syrian civil war is the single biggest blow Iran could deal to Israel right now. It would secure Iran's entire western flank and solidify Hezbollah and Syria's position against Israel. Then Iran could sit back and focus on internal matters, maybe poke the Saudis in Yemen a bit. Would be beneficial to keep them as tied up in Yemen as they made us in Syria. It is easy and demands little to no resources, since the Saudis always seem to shoot themselves in the foot by overreacting and general military ineptitude. Win the war, and Iranian influence in the Levant is secured, to the severe detriment of Israel.

Waitiiiiiiinnnngggggg.
Main, issue here seems to be your lack of/inability to understand patience.lol.
As a matter of fact, maybe Iran is wait8ng for Israel's "guard"to go down before retaliating. I do suspect Iran might not retaliate properly, but that's an assumption and youre making that too.

be patient Zionist. There are rumours that Khamenei may have vetoed a IRGC ambush on an Israeli patrol and waiting on the may 12th nuclear deadline before re-calibrating policy.

but you are right. Israel stronk. you have absolutely nothing to worry about. your paranoid leaders watching in horror that iran is strategically encircling your tiny artificial "State".. They are all idiots. all those Israeli military officers putting their forces on high alert, with warnings from mossad of Iranian retaliation are all false too. You have nothing to worry about.

Also the history of iran always taking direct revenge for any direct isreali action. we can ignore that too, iran will probably change its behaviour this one time. Because BIBI and orange are too scary. you got nothing to worry about.

Iranian soldiers killed by Israeli strike.... Israeli patrol eats ATGM

Iranians scientists getting killed by mysterious terrorist explosions?...... random Israeli suddenly started combusting overseas. with both attacks stopping at about the same time....

Iranian diplomats kidnapped by probable Zionists?.......Zionist pilot ron arad spends the rest of his life rotting in a windowless dungeon in iran. with his family never knowing his fate, and still to this date advertising and offering 10 million dollar rewards for info.... etc..etc....

This time though it will be different!!!!!. Iran has accepted Zionist supremacy. WE will withdraw all our assets encircling your tiny state. We will take no retaliatory action against Zionist aggression this one time. And accept you as our overlords... You have absolutely nothing to worry my friend. You are correct. ;)

Maybe, or a better explanation would be IRI lacks any effective retaliatory assets in Syria, a place she has no business to spend so much blood and treasure. BTW, if Israel has learned anything about Hizbullah or IRI, is that they are both unpredictable, clipped wings, but still unpredictable. I don't think Israel is just waiting for a response. If anything Israel will continue and escalate. Will see.

Thats what you get for wasting money on mullah's families and not building a strong and stable airforce.

You can lob some missiles through your proxy like the terrorists you are. You are not even doing that.

Humiliated and pissed on by the Israelis.
