So basically we are now 10 days past Eid and more than 15 days past the Bakar Mandi rush and if there was going to be a spike due to Eid, it should have happened by now. From today everything except schools will open as normal which means if there is a spike by 20th August we might have a second wave. However i do expect that there will be a second wave in Pakistan like Iran but we can manage it by partial lockdowns until there is a vaccine.

Has Pakistan reached herd immunity or just have very effective social distancing rules? Your numbers seem to be very encouraging. Hopefully India can get on a similar track soon.

Or it might be to do with genetics. In India for example, in the last report I read, Punjab seems to have highest recovery rate and lowest positivity rate from corona tests.

One thing I assure you we didn't bother to have social distancing from Day 1.... This is just special blessing from Allah.... Hospitals are allhamdulillah getting empty, no vantilators are being used..... I don't know what is it but I just know a special gift from Allah

I think that you are right. It is pretty much impossible to impose social distancing rules in poor, densely populated countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh etc. In all liklehood, Pakistan has probably reached herd immunity. This means about 55% of all pakistanis have probably already contracted corona and recovered from it. That's why there is constant decrease in cases and also deaths. Although, it is quite surprising how a 220 million people country reached herd immunity so quickly. I think this shows corona spreads much more quicker than people imagined.
