Featured Coordinated attack by Protesters and Afghanistan BP at Chaman gate

Believe me they'd never try to pull this sort of stunt with Iranian border guards. They've got a reputation for being cruel on the border. It looks like our men are spread thin and were not able to co-ordinate a response.

And really for riots like this you need specific crowd control weapons, guns are not the right tool here. Tear gas, rubber bullets, pepper spray, shields, and also water cannon like vehicles.

I am surprised why Pakistan & Afghanistan (read Taliban) didn't created buffer zone and dry ports close to boarders.

Any stuff coming from India should come to dry ports and shifted on transportation trucks then move into Afghanistan, and these transport companies should be owned by Pakistanis and tightly regulated. Same thing they should ask Afghan government (read Taliban) to do so.

Any traders who want to come to Pakistan should also have to get clearance first on Afghan side from Pakistani official and then dry port. That whole area should be sealed.

Today Pathans on both sides should accept old days are gone, the only way to have trade has to be in this manner and based on Pakistan's Conditions.

Taliban are no different. Traders? More like smugglers and drug sellers. Pakistan doesn't stop legit trade between both countries.

Taliban are different from current Kabul rulers, you accept it or not.

Problem is not trade but the way things are going on. Everything has to come to boarder and get checked which creates huge stampede on boarders. This can easily get offloaded to dry ports.

Just insane, looks like a war zone. You can't simply storm into a country and expect people to do nothing. The blame lies with those telling them to run forward and attack Pakistani positions.
The guards should fire rubber bullets and mass tear gas crowds, it's effective can can avoid deaths, in this case 9 Afghans.
As for the reports of live firing from terrorists, unleash hell on them. I'd go further and say a buffer zone is now needed.

They should have fired machine guns right into the crowd. They'd have to pay them a lot more to try it next time.

Bro unless they have weapons we should not do that. I hope my brothers understand. Non-lethal bullets, gas etc is highly effective.
The terrorist who have weapons, then if they have an AK hit them with an ATGM.

Why Pakistan is let these afghans attacking Pakistan? We must be very strict in our actions, these afghan are exploiting our kindness and leniency . How long our forces will tolerate these mischievous mercenaries? I don't think these deserve free coming and going on our border.

Our spineless leaders are living in la-la-land and have always allowed these Namak-Harams to abuse our territorial integrity. We hosted them for decades and this is how they pay us? Look what Iran does to them, then toss them alive into the river and they don't dare to go near their border? Why? Because they know they won't return back in a single piece.

Our dumb leaders want to offer them our citizenship and whatnot. Our leaders are corrupt, incompetent, and spineless.

QUETTA: At least three people, including a woman, were killed and over 20 injured in a clash between an unruly mob and security forces at Friendship Gate border crossing in Chaman on Thursday, while a heavy exchange of fire also took place between Pakistani and Afghan security forces.

After remaining closed for pedestrian movement for several weeks, the border crossing was reopened on Wednesday to allow people from both sides to travel to their native areas to celebrate Eid.

According to sources, a large number of people gathered and staged a sit-in at Friendship Gate on Thursday with the intention to cross the border. Frontier Corps (FC) personnel asked them to move away from the gate, but they refused to do so. The FC officials told them that the gate would not be opened until shifting of the protesters from the site.

Meanwhile, a large number of Afghan nationals, including women and children, also gathered there for crossing into Afghanistan. However, when the gate was not opened by the border officials, the protesters became violent and attacked the offices of FC and other government agencies located at the Friendship Gate and set the FC and Nadra offices on fire.

FC personnel fired bullets in the air to disperse the mob but with the passage of time more people joined the protest from both sides of the border.

Meanwhile, officials said, some gunshots were also heard and a mob attacked the 300-room quarantine facility established in containers close to the border and set it on fire.

Sources said the situation was further aggravated by some miscreants in the crowd and some gunshots were also heard. In the melee, three people were killed and 20 others suffered injuries.

The protesters then went to Chaman town where they forcibly shut down all bazaars and shopping malls and blocked roads.

“A heavy exchange of fire between Pakistani and Afghan forces continues and load explosions are heard in Chaman,” Zakaullah Durrani, a senior official of the local administration, told Dawn, adding that so far no casualty was reported in the shootout.

“We have received three bodies and 20 injured in the district hospital,” Dr Malik Achakzai said, adding that six injured had been shifted to Quetta due to their serious condition.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove said at a press conference: “Some miscreants in the protest provoked the crowd. The incident is being investigated. The government will take decisions in the interest of the people and the country. If there is tension across the border, we will respond to it. We will investigate the incident from different angles and action would be taken against those responsible for violence.”

He said the government had closed the Chaman border due to security concerns.

The minister said that if any kind of tension was raised by Afghan forces on the border, it would be effectively responded to.

“We will not allow infiltration or aggression. The enemy is sitting across the border and spending billions of dollars to disturb peace of Pakistan. We are keeping an eye on threats of terrorism and steps are being taken to curb them,” Mr Langove said.

Taliban are no different. Same animal tribal mindset. We should develop closer ties with Tajiks to take care of Afghani pashtuns who dream of getting Pakistan lands. Otherwise this durrand shit will hang over Pakistan head for years to come. Instead of supporting Tajiks against nazi afghan pashtuns, we supported terrorist pashtun talibans against nazi afghan pashtuns. End result is in front of you.

I couldn't agree more. Right now we unfortunately have leadership that simply doesn't understand how to deal with Afghanistan.

With Afghans you deal like the Iranians deal with.
