Beautiful Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Supreme Court constituted a special committee on Friday to finalise recommendations on extending constitutional rights to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.

A seven-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Saqib Nisar passed the order.

The special committee headed by the attorney general of Pakistan will comprise senior lawyers Aitzaz Ahsan, Salman Akram Raja, Javed Ahmed, Afrasiab and the secretary ministry of Kashmir affairs.

The court directed the committee to take on board all the stakeholders and submit its recommendations by December 11. The hearing has been adjourned for December 24.

On November 28, Prime Minister Imran Khan approved changing G-B’s status to an interim province by accepting the recommendations of a reforms committee.

So, will it still be a Disputed Territory or a part of Pakistan ?
The Irony being .. In Either case, Pakistan looses its stand.

@WAJsal :cheers:
Our wishes came true. This is game changing for people of GB.

Aitizaz Ahsan who's also lawyer of Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari is surely anti state element.

The Irony being .. In Either case, Pakistan looses its stand.
firstly, you have also made a disputed territory as your so-called legal part and have governer and chief minister there which is against even your own constitution i.e:article 370 and 35A and against the resolutions of UN too and secondly,Gilgit Baltistan is/was never a part of Kashmir and even its people are called Gilgiti and not Kashmiri and both Kashmir and Gilgit have geographical inclusion with Pakistan as well and even if tomorrow there is a refrendum for self-determination it will not be in Gilgit but only in Kashmir.

Is it ?

Secondly, the Resolution recommended a three-step process for the resolution of the dispute. In the first step, Pakistan was asked to withdraw all its nationals from Kashmir.
no where in the resoluton it is mentioned that plebiscite boundaries would involve GB but it was only your demand which was rejected.

The UN resolution was inherently in favour of India so it has always surprised me why Pakistani leaders have insisted on India abiding by the resolution. The resolution expects Pakistan to leave GB and Kashmir completely first which we will never do especially considering the fake elections that have been conducted by India in Kashmir before. The UN resolution is therefore a moot point.

The people of GB are pro-Pak and denying them basic rights like the right to vote has been farcical in my opinion. That doesnt mean that the fight for Indian occupied Kashmir is over. The right to self determination enshrined in the UN charter ensures that the Indian occupation can be contested further on as well albeit on other grounds,

Ultimately this is a win for the people of Pakistan as the people of GB will finally attain their full rights.

No it doesn't. The indigenous kashmiri people in Indian occupied Kashmir will decide and carry that cause... Pakistan will continue to support.

Win-win

. .
Do a referendum and make it permanent province instead of involving in this interim province status drama.

.
Just integrate it already.

India isn't going to give Kashmir peacefully, there's no point in trying to be diplomatic. Our strategy should be to wait for the opportune moment to seize it forcefully.

.
Gilgit, Baltistan, Siachen, Kashmir none of these are disputed territories, they have been, are and will be integral parts of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Some part of Kashmir and Siachen are currently under unethical, illegal and oppressive occupation of of India, but sooner or later the occupiers will be thrown out by force.
