elections is not the answer to Ghaddai Fatwa and denial of right to vote. A minority party can't announce fresh elections and ghaddar to majority.

I have noticed the western media have been reporting the political unrest in Pakistan quite negatively in context with Imran Khan.

He seems to be made into someone who come into power not democratically but by the army and because of his bad policies/costs of living his being removed but his trying to cling onto power and his using conspiracy theories on the US trying to topple him as a means to an end. The opposition seem to have little criticism directed to them.
