Conspiracy theories abound in Pakistan

We get some peole like this usually.
When someone from East like Thackery threats Pakistan Cricet Team, you people say that he is abnormal.

When someone even more unpopular than him says about Pakistan, and is a Pakistan, you treat him like a hero. Thats lame.

You're going off topic. This thread is not about what Indians say about Pakistan, its about what a Pakistani and Hillary Clinton says about Pakistan. Don't you get sick to blame Indians all the time?? Stay on topic.

. .
DURING her post-Osama bin Laden visit to Pakistan, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Pakistan should shed anti-Americanism and conspiracy theories.

Clinton’s comment isn’t uncalled for. Many Pakistanis still believe that Sept. 11 was an inside job. Another conspiracy theory popular in Pakistan says 3,000 Jews who worked in the World Trade Center didn’t show up Sept. 11 because they knew in advance the planes would crash into the towers.

Pakistan’s intelligence agencies are accused of abducting, torturing and killing fellow citizens every day. Therefore, the conspiracy crowd thinks it would be normal for the CIA, as well, to sacrifice American lives to achieve its goals.

Pakistanis give credibility to anything that fits the “us against them” model of world politics. That behavior is rooted in our national paranoia. We believe that the whole world is conspiring against us.

But why would anyone conspire against us?

Why doesn’t the United States conspire against India, Malaysia, Sri Lanka or Burkina Faso?

Why does it have to do “propaganda” against the ISI, Pakistan’s premier spy agency, while sparing the intelligence agencies of other countries?

Is it because Pakistan poses any economic threat to the United States? Is it because Pakistan is an oil-rich country? Or is it because Pakistan poses a strategic threat to the United States?

A typical Pakistani response to “Why the ISI?” would be “Because it’s the intelligence agency of a Muslim country that is also a nuclear power.”

But Pakistan isn’t the only nuclear power, and religion per se plays little role in the formation of U.S. foreign policy.

In reality, the West is concerned about Pakistan mainly because it exports terrorism.

Few people would be talking about Pakistan today had its crisis been limited to its geographic boundaries. We’d be receiving as much international attention as any African country facing internal strife and civil war.

But that’s not the case.

Today, Pakistan is Britain’s biggest aid recipient. It has received U.S. aid amounting to $18 billion since Sept. 11. The largest number of Fulbright scholars in the United States, including myself, are from Pakistan.

The West isn’t concerned about Pakistan for altruistic reasons. It’s concerned because a heavily populated, nuclear-armed country with millions of poor, under-educated young men, who are inclined toward militant fundamentalism, isn’t good for world peace.

We, ordinary Pakistanis, let alone our leadership, simply refuse to acknowledge that our country contributes a fair share in spreading terrorism globally.

Worse, we don’t even accept that Pakistan is also a victim of terrorism. We’ve lost more than 30,000 Pakistanis in terrorist attacks since Sept. 11. Yet, online polls suggest an overwhelming majority of Facebook users from Pakistan consider the United States a bigger threat than the Taliban.

We live in denial, and the Kool-Aid of conspiracy theories strengthens our false sense of pride and rightness. This, in turn, makes us hostile toward other countries.

The 9/11 conspiracy is not just a figment of Pakistan's imagination, there are 10,000 or so American technocrats who believe in the same being the case. There is an Association of Architects for a transparent enquiry for 9/11 and its President is speaking in London on the 20th of June. So there are things which are seriously wrong with 9/11 and it is recognized internationally.

The Pakistani author of the thread-starting article is very perceptive. If only his view and understanding were the norm in Pakistan, Pakistan woiuld be light-years ahead of where it is now, in terms of the quality of life of its citizens. The anti-USA attitude and belief in all manner of conspiracies is self-defeating and a symptom of a society that is wounded but not yet ready to have the bullet removed and the wound cauterized.

There are not 10,00 intelligent Americans, or people of any nationality, who seriously believe in the "inside job" bullcrap story about 9/11. The people who say they believe this are attention seekers or just anti-American provocateurs, mostly the latter. Denying the Al Qaeda narrative about 9/11 is simply a way of expressing anti-American hatred.

Many of the weird theories (like 911) is believed by most anti americans in muslim world, including Indian muslims.
I have unsuccessfully argued with them, and found it is extremely difficult.
But then I cant be as persuasive as Zakir Naik. :(

His tweets (Kazim Alam, author of this thread): Why? I can lie in Pakistan as much as I want :-) So why stay here? :p

He is clearly following other sources including Fareed Zakaria and anti-Pakistani. He praised others than the achievement on Pakistan.

Is he decoit Rangers should shoot him?
