As for the article. It's pure bullshit. Russia has no interests whatsoever in waging any war with Israel. They don't have much conflict of interests either. Plus Russia was also one country with a major Jewish population even during WWII . Moreover , both countries have a neutral or even good relationship including militarily(Russia bought and uses Israel drones tech. ). Russia simply doesn't give a fucking shit about Arab-Israeli issues or Iran-Israel stuffs or any sectarian religious wars between KSA and Iran in the region etc etc. Russia just like other world powers is merely there for its own national interests and to secure and further them by all means necessary. ISRAEL doesn't figure as a threat to Russia and vice versa for Israel.

And Russian surveillance is not that bad either. There's a rumor that Russia warned Erdogan about the coup after Russian surveillance picked up communication inside Turkey iirc.

I believe if decent relations could exist between Israel and Iran before 1979, they can now too especially under a moderate govt. There needs to be collective effort to counter IS, if not overt then covert, these jihadists might be on toyota pickups but they resort to asymmetric warfare and can be more dangerous than hezbullah and hamas interms of ideological commitment and tactics !!!
