Confirmed!!! The engine is WS-10G

I must say ChineseTiger is the most optimistic guy about Taihang engines. He flooded the forum since 2011, 2012, 2013... with threads like "Confirmed! WS10 on J10A, J10B, J20, ..."
while with help of Deino we know that at this moment only WS10A work on J11

That is finalizing of the design of WS-10G, not production date in 2011. Now in 2015, production batch for J-10C is seen. WS-10A already put into production in the 2013 but only recently drum up in larger number in late 2014 which seen equipped on J-11B, J-11BS, J-15 , J-15S and J-16

2 J-10C with WS-10G, more will be seen soon.

The first squadron of J-10C will formed very soon and remaining J-10B will be retrofitted into J-10C standard.

I'm not optimistic. I wish Vietnam would lift the engine ban on China for their fighter engine. :undecided:

Tks. I am realistic. To maintain 36 flankers, the most effective way is purchasing from OEM. The only investment is building maintenance workshop for Al-31 engines in Vietnam. Done.
We wont follow China way.

Again, Did I downgrade China achievement? No.
I just want to get correct not rumored news when visit this. To me, chinese tiger, cirr, beast ... are untrustworthy. Deino is great.

Sir, How much thrust does the WS10G provide.
Going by Wikipedia (which is not at all reliable) it is between 152 ~ 155Kn?

Any news on the engine? Will J31 or j20 in the end have thrust vectoring like F22 has?

Those are J-10Bs, not J-10Cs; note the lack of a second dorsal antenna and VLOC antenna on its vertical stabilizer.

Indeed this is J-10B.

--Also, anyone can give me a confirmation that the WS-10 engines on this two aircrafts are actually WS-10G with 14000 kgf of thrust, instead of WS-10A with something around 12500~13000kgf thrust? On what ground can you assert that the engines shown in the photos are WS-10G? AFAIK pb on CJDBY stated that the 14000kgf WS-10G was still in test phase.

This article is published in june. Design is finalised and final test has already conducted during that time. We spotted 2 new J-10B/C fitted with taihang engine in around October which is consistent with new engine commission. Why would J-10B/C wait until now then fitted with Taihang engine? Pt 1035 in 2013 was once fitted with Taihang engine but suddenly, it disappear and remaining production of J-10B fitted with AL-31FM engine. Why is there a break in between of Taihang engine used on J-10B/C?

140KN thrust can give J-10B/C supercruise abilities. couple with AESA and better air intake will make this comparable with 4.5th gen fighter like Typhoon and Rafale. I am sure this is what PLAAF are working towards to. It is also the reason why J-10B has not put into active operational yet. The J-10B will be retrofit with new WS-10B/G before joining the PLAAF fleet for operation.

The supercruise version of JF-17 with TVC would be cool.
The price would also skyrocket, rendering he entire idea behind the JF-17 as being pointless. It would be cool, but the thunder is suppose to be a cheap, replaceable workhorse. If you want TVC and other advanced features, may as well go for an Sukhoi.

That's not to say that it won't get these in the future blocks, but only when PAF has the funds for such a thing.

Yep, the TVC is too much of a luxury for the JF-17 which would affect its price value.
