What's new

Concerned Indian Parliamentarian questions China's road construction, asks "Did we blink?"

most probably both sides reached out to an understanding...Dhoklam for NSG support!!
"We remind India to draw lessons from the stand-off, abide by established treaties "
Does this tone sound like China gave in?

Look at the official statements from both countries, NEITHER side mentioned anything about a road.

Which means, by withdrawing their soldiers, India is depending on China's "good will" to stop building the road. Which worked out so well with CPEC and the South China Sea. :P

Ok if you think so, Win Win for both then..:)
BTW everything doesn't need to come out in public..Had India depended on Chinese goodwill there are lots other ways than listening to recycled rants for two months.

I don't know...but think reasonably, there must be some trade-off for sudden Indian withdrawal...or may be they did withdraw unilaterally...! situation is not clear yet in my opinion

What's different from those daily rants in CGTN or Xinhua..?
Only for Chinese public consumption..You gave us laugh for last few months so to the world media houses.

It's not only for Chinese consumption official statement for the world. While India is unusually quiet.. What laughts? We gave warning, you laughed, but in the end you withdrew without us firing a bullet. Who is laughing now?

What trade in? So means India can just go into any area not even disputed and extract concessions? This is not a Indo-Chinese dispute. If China allows this, US can just land in SCS island and stop Chinese missile work. Does it make sense?

Wait, so India doesn't have a problem with Chinese troops being there?

I thought India said it was 100% Bhutan's territory, and that they had a mutual defence treaty to protect Bhutan?

It won't take much time for Indian Army to "trespass" the border again and stop the road construction in case you break the goodwill. :)

Read the Chinese statements properly, after this incident, China will reinforce the border defenses. You trespass again, it will be war. Good you withdrew like a good puppy.

India was quiet even when the stand off was going on.May be didn't bother.

China has officially offered ZERO concessions.

The Indian side has already withdrawn, and Chinese troops are still patroling the area.

Which means India is depending on China's "good will" to stop building the road, which worked out really well for CPEC and the South China Sea.

Chinese blothel, India did not have any issue China patrolling the area. Infact Chinese patrolling Doklam is return of the pre June 2017 status which is what India wanted. The real question was about the construction which the Indian army stopped.
IS the construction still happening?

Chinese blothel you are so gullible, my sympathies for you.

Wait, didn't India say that Donglang is 100% Bhutan's territory, and therefore India had to uphold their mutual defence treaty with Bhutan?

But suddenly they don't mind Chinese soldiers and garrisons there on a permanent basis?

And neither side has officially said anything about a road, all China said is we will continue to exercise our sovereign rights over the area, which means we can build whatever we want.

True that is what Indian army chief Bipin said in mild words. The question is this time China will be prepared to counter Indian trespassing

Road construction, if any, will have to be stopped in another 4 months due to weather constraints. :D

Chinese blothel, totally understandable you trying to save your face under linguistic semantics. It is actually shameful for China to eat Crow.
Anyways, Doklam is a disputed territory between Bhutan and China and India supports Bhutan claim. India did not want China to change the status quo there and that is what has been achieved. The status has been restored to pre June 2017. Rest you can develop and design any methodology to hide from this shame that you were unable to bully even tiny Bhutan.
Again, my sympathies for you!

So India no longer wants to use unarmed, hand-holding soldiers in a human chain to stop China's road construction, now you are depending on the weather?

Well, China can build very fast. Skyscrapers come out of nowhere in only a few months, what is a road?
