What's new

Concerned Indian Parliamentarian questions China's road construction, asks "Did we blink?"

China said No talk till India withdraws. How did that work out ?
Yah, stop with what? Your soldiers retreated? Stopping with air?.
Btw, what 'talks' were held? Only thing happening was diplomatic channels are opened, just that we won't negotiate until you withdraw and you did precisely that. Remember the Doval affair, how he 'forced' China to talk? We know what happened isn't it?:D.

We did haven't you been checking your phone for last three months.:omghaha:.atleast believe your CCP when they told you India entered your land dugout the road.

It's like you asking us to stop drilling in scs and we continue doing it.

By the way do ask CCP about the road , will ya
Dug out road? How do you equate kumbaya holding hands and 2 mini excavators obstructing construction to digging up roads? How many meters did you dig up exactly. Chinese statements officially said you 'obstructed' road construction and not destroyed roads. You didn't dare touch a single inch of Chinese road cow ward and now you retreated like good puppies.

2 months became three months, only verbal warnings and no bullets, and of course one infamous flying kick was enough to force them to retreat.

You are right. I meant to say that there have OFFICIALLY been zero concessions from the Chinese side.

It is possible that there were some deals under the table, but since those were confidential, we'll never know what happened. So it's pointless to guess, all guesses are equally likely or unlikely.

I can say, oh I heard a rumor that China promised to give water information back to India in return for their withdrawal. Or, I heard a rumor that China offered to give the moon to India.

Since we don't know what happened in the back channel meetings, we can only rely on official statements.
But, one thing is certain, OBOR has won this round...

LOL....... what ?

If "talks" were not held then why did the chinese put out a statement saying there were "talks" ? :cheesy:

Pretty much everybody in the world has seen what has happened.

1. China build road on disputed Bhutan land.
2. India send troops to stop work.
3. China "ask" India to go back.
4. India refused and demanded to stop work and discuss solution.
5. China say no discussion till Indian troops go back. Gives "Warning".
6. India says FCUK YOU.
7. China agree to talk with India
8. India agree to withdraw men and China decided to stop road activity.
9. China claim "victory" ...... India say LOL.World say LOL.

Congratulations on your "victory". May you have many such "victories" with India

See any word on talks there before withdrawal? Even Indian MEA used the word diplomatic effort, not a single word on 'talks'. For you to talk, you need two parties to interact, there is no talks if only one is making noise.

1. China build road on disputed Bhutan land. China informed India they were building roads out of good will.
2. India send troops to stop work. Instead of conveying their concern, India took the decision to send troops.
3. China "ask" India to go back. To maintain peace, China asked India to withdraw unilaterally and unconditionally.
4. India refused and demanded to stop work and discuss solution. India demanded mutual withdrawal and a commitment to stop road works
5. China say no discussion till Indian troops go back. Gives "Warning". China gave 3 diplomatic warnings and 1 military warning. China mobilizes troops and equipment in the second month.
6. India says FCUK YOU. India downplays warnings and Chinese troop deployments.
7. China agree to talk with India. India withdraws unilaterally with unconditionally based on MEA and MOFA statement.
8. India agree to withdraw men and China decided to stop road activity. Current road construction activity unknown. No official announcement of road cessation by both INDIA and CHINA.
9. China claim "victory" ...... India say LOL.World say LOL. India claims victory, mixed reaction from foreign media.

What about save face? Do I need to repeat the MEA face saving statement of 'disengagement'?

Notice your government did not use the word mutual withdrawal. They just said disengagement by India and China, this is a vague term, it can mean India withdrew and China deescalates by not posturing in aggressive manner. No mention of Chinese nor Indian troops withdrawals at all. Indian statement was not contradictory it was vague. Read below.

http://www.fmprc.gov.cn/mfa_eng/xwfw_665399/s2510_665401/t1487932.shtml

Q: The Indian government's announcement is that there is a "mutual disengagement" of the troops between the two countries. You haven't mentioned the pullback of the Chinese troops. You mentioned only the pullback of the Indian troops. How do you explain?

A: The Chinese side has made it clear that the Indian border personnel and equipment that trespassed into China's territory have all been withdrawn to the Indian side of the border. The Chinese border troops continue with their patrols in the Dong Lang area. China will continue with its exercise of sovereign rights to protect territorial sovereignty in accordance with the stipulations of the border-related historical treaty

Never in the Indian MEA statement did it said Chinese troops withdrew, it said Chinese troops 'disengaged', whatever that means, not pointing your missiles at the Indians could mean disengaged btw. So this was clearly a unilateral withdrawal with no condition as per Chinese demands. China had announced to the world there will not be any negotiations until unconditional unilateral withdrawals. They will not retract that, India abided. Until today no MEA nor MOFA announced anything on cessation of road building. If it was a victory by India loud mouth Sushma would have been the first to shout it out loud.

LOL..... MEA has said that there is disengagement based on china acknowledging our interests.

We have left it ambiguous to help china save face.

So you are free to save face, we are only interested in stopping the road work at the border and that has been achieved.

Except China didn't agree to stop road construction at all.

See what the official Chinese spokesperson said, all construction activities, including the road at Donglang are going to be completed. :enjoy:

So what did India withdraw for?

http://www.thehindu.com/news/intern...ad-construction-in-doklam/article19581244.ece

"In response to a question whether China has halted the construction of a road in the Doklam plateau, ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said, “Chinese border troops continue to be stationed and patrol in order to meet the needs of defending our borders and improving living conditions.” (Unnecessary and irreverent statement designed to beat around the bush, since India will be doing the same along with Bhutan )"

Now THIS is the real part,

She added, “We will take into consideration all factors, including weather, to make relevant construction plans according to situations on ground.” :D

China did not say it will resume construction of the road  ...... they are beating around the bush.

China now says that they construction plan will now be revised to "take into consideration all factors". This means that earlier plan did not take into account ALL FACTORS :D

Wrong.

I'm talking about the latest official Chinese statement, see it in this thread:

China FM: China to complete construction plans for Dong Lang (Doklam) subject to local conditions

China's official spokesperson makes it clear that construction activities in Donglang, including the road, are going to be completed. :enjoy:

LOL.... you are Pathetic. That is exactly what my post said.

From your own link,

"We will make an overall assessment of the weather conditions and all related factors, and according to the actual circumstances complete construction plans for the Dong Lang (Doklam) area," spokesperson Hua Chunying told a daily news briefing.

Just beating around the Bush and making vague promises

When is the START DATE for construction ?

It still has to be "assessed" as per your own admission. Blaming the weather is a pretty desperate move :P

The MEA was clearly addressing hawkish sections in the Communist Party and the PLA, which have been demanding ejection of Indian troops and preparing to raise the issue at a crucial party Congress later this year. Observers said the India-China pact took place after a series of backroom talks, some of which were held in Hong Kong to avoid the glare of self-styled defence experts and the media.

Chinese goods boycott?
Hahahaha
