Compulsory Military Training

Pakistan is shrouded with the dark shadows of multiple problem. I blame it on self discipline, which is lacking among Pakistanis. This fact is evident on roads in shape of violation of traffic laws, building laws, hygienic laws, adulteration laws, etc etc. If military training is made mandatory for every person reaching the age of 18, chances are we will improve and emerge as a great nation. My hypothesis is based on the results of Singapore policy on compulsory military training for year longs and still continuing. Today they proudly claim to the most self discipline nation in the world.

Yes,there were military courses in the colleges, but they were stopped in 1998.

Pak has large number of unemployed youth, after getting training, some of them later may join militants.

No in my humble opinion it will NOT work here.

I feel we should impose heavy fine on such violations and strictly implement it trough strict bodies like Motorways Police did

Our people become law abiding ones when they know they will have to pay heavy money for such violations.

In India NCC is huge and the enthusiasts grow by the day. Less in Metros but immense in smaller towns , cities & states.

It was implemented in every college in Pakistan but it had no effect.

Pakistan has a lot of unemployment people,they may use this training for committing crimes or joining separatists movements

The Pakistani population is not what it was before. We no longer have that feeling of patriotism that we used to have. It's just Punjabi, Balochi, Sindhi, Mohajir, and so on. Military training will most likely be misused.

Anyway what good NCC has brought to India?

Enormous

It provides a ready pool of young men & women willing to join the armed forces.

Inculcates a sense of discipline and faith in your own self - I often come across people in corporate world who proudly recall their association with the NCC as students and recount the training they recieved in camps.

This is in addition to the advantages given to those cadets who wish to join the army.
