Completed Arjun Mark 2 At The Republic Day Parade

Arjun looks way better than T90....
Really robust, last, beasty and any enemy who sees this will try to hide rather than engaging...

When i look at

Arjun Mark 2
The Lca tejas
Dhruv Helicopter
And Kolkatta Class Destoryers

All indengious weapons

I think really progress and very impressive by india

Looks good but the desert camo was better ....:coffee:
The IA is also buying the Barracuda camo system for them (specifically for deserts). Depending on where they will be deployed they will be painted in the appropriate camo.

The Arjun really looks impressive. But is it a unique design or based on old Soviet models? I'm not familiar with tanks.

What is this thing ???? doesn't look like the Armour panels on the right side :what:

Its an IR jammer,Elbit supplied one,if I am not wrong. It will jam wire guided second gen atgms like Baktar shikans

Can't be radar, too exposed. This type of place is reserved for the smoke grenades but from what I can see on the other side, they're way at the back. My experience extends solely to Pakistani operated Armour, so we'll need an Indian Armour boy to clarify. Though it could be a tandem placement of smoke grenades to manage angles, the cover could then be a hatch.

The basic design is not exactly unique, its influenced from western tanks.

Why aren't we placing order in several hundreds ?We seem to be very happy signing on more tin can nineties ?
Once Mk.2 is in service expect significant follow on orders. I had hear the IA was seriously considering a follow on order to take the total of MK.2s up to over 500. It all depends on how well the system (as a whole i.e. maintenance and logistics) works in practice.

I wonder when they'll put in the Indian engine?!
There is no such Indian engine on the market today, maybe in 5-10 years but not today- very few nations have such suitable products to date. The engine India is getting from Germany is top-spec and world-class so at least it will do the job.

Even TATA and AL- the giants of the HGV market in India use foreign engines on their trucks so it's no real surprise. They are working on indigenous products though.
