Comparison : Pakistani Al Khalid-1 MBT vs Israeli Merkava IV MBT !

And where is the ammo compartment.... as far as one can see... the turret don't have any bustle and the hull don't have any space with engine, auto loader and driver's compartment.

The driver compartment right in the middle leaves no space whatsoever for any type of compartment to store ammo.

I have seen them inside the tank myself, they are there.

In one other thread, it says that China and Pakistan have signed a contract for the manufacturing of Al Khalid-1 tank, while this thread says that Al Khalid-1 are already with Pakistan Army....what is your stance on this?

Also, how do YOU think Al Khalid-1 would fare against Merkava IV , or other Western tanks?

The contract covers the input included in the R&D of Type-90IIM MBT, the daddy of MBT 2000 and in our case, the AK. AK-1 is strictly Pakistani version of baseline AK which itself a variant of Type-90IIM/ MBT 2000.

Regarding the second query, i dont compare Apples with Oranges.

Al Khalid-1 is right up there with latest Merkava IV , with Merkava having a slight edge due to superior electronics etc.

Israel is producing Merkava since 1970's , while Pakistan started to produce Al Khalid much later. So it is great to see Pakistan producing tanks as capable as Al Khalid-1

Al Khalid-1 edges Merkava IV in firepower and mobility..while Merkava IV has better armor and protection system (Israelis are obsessed with soldiers' protection).

PS : There is alot of talk about which ATGM is superior...LAHAT or Kombat. Both ATGMs have their own advantages over the other...so lets keep it that way. This is why I didn't high-light any of the tank in ATGM category.

but its hillarious to see pakistanies junping up and down with joy over there so called VARTA protected Al Khaled over Merkava 4 which is having the same capibility for some years now and al khaled 1 is not even in production where as merkava 4 is already having MLUs and even before them it was far superior anything that indians , russians and super chiniese ever had well maybe better than germans aswell but as they say

I said before, AK looks like a Russian tank and is a copy of a Chinese platform, whereas the Merkava with its engine at the front, and compartment to hold infantrymen is a complete Israeli design, suited for the Israeli war situation.

Same is the case in the small arms business: copies of European arms are made in Pakistan, while Israeli's create new systems like the Uzi from the start.

Secondly: Why do Western tanks have larger/boxier turrets than their Russian, or Chinese counteparts?

Also AK 2 has a western design..........The Turks r 'chipping' in the project so we assume it may look like Altay tank and so has Pak chipped in with Turks in their Altay tank n its development of its systems.

The rumor has it that Altay may share some specs or systems of AK series.

u HAVE TALKED ABOUT THE armor of Mk4 but u haven't talked its back side's armor.
I remember watching a documentary in which they were talking about how a Ghaza man/Palestinian guy got it by simple RPG when he fired at its backside where the emergency exit door for crew is located.

VARTA is not 'same as' TROPHY. OP has clearly stated that TROPHY is superior to VARTA...

This documentary is full of inaccuracies. For example they claimed that Israeli tanks which moved towards Khiam were stopped by Hezbollah rockets and turned back. But in fact they reached Marjayoun, which is behind Khiam:
