Comparison : Pakistani Al Khalid-1 MBT vs Israeli Merkava IV MBT !

Your own words confirm that Nag is not "operational" in indian army as we speak.

Umm well Laser Guidance for one...

Lahat needs a laser to designate target, which will alert tank, and disrupt it's guidance with countermeasures.but then, there are arguments countering this too...its a never ending game...thats why I left this topic in my OP.

Al Khalid-1s use KOMBAT ATGM which are superior to Lahats in many ways...but also have some disadvantages etc

I gave you the link... the purchase was from 2010... by 2011 all 443 missiles delivered... further orders awaited after the new seeker pass the summer trails.

Most of the CLATGM are leaser guided you point being ?

On what parameters you declared Kombat as superior ?

.
nag failed in the most recent test.

Kombat has a much bigger warhead hence 1 shot and tank in thousand pieces

lahat is useless against varta/shtora
how?if you wanna know leave a reply

- Kombat lacks top attack mode and 125mm is not enough vs front of modern tanks.
- Mk4 has both laser detectors and Trophy APS which can counter Kombat.
- During the Indian and Greek trials Shtora failed to detect western lasers.

Your info is wrong. Last Nag test failed. Either your army is a joke which is having such missiles as "operational" who fail in latest tests etc, or your army is still having field tests of nag contrary to what you claim.

All of them have weakness then. They are more prone to jamming, and tanks can be alerted BEFORE the ATGM is even fired.

Plus, all modern ATGMs don't have laser designation.

KOMBAT uses "beam riding" method which is relatively superior guidance method than the one Lahat uses.

On what parameters you declared Kombat as superior ?

1) Way superior 'armor piercing capability'
2) Superior guidance method.
3) Bigger warhead/more destruction power
4) No time for tank to react, tank only has LESS THAN 0.5 SECOND to take counter measures, after it realizes that KOMBAT is coming for kill..and NOTHING can save the tank at this point.
5) Superior ability to penetrate advance Active Protection Systems such as TROPHY etc...

Lahat has two advantages as far as I can see..

1) Range
2) Lofted Trajectory Mode (Many claim that even KOMBAT has this mode...)

.
1) Way superior 'armor piercing capability'
Thanks to lofted trajectory LAHAT has much bigger advantage here: Kombat cant penetrate most of the tanks, LAHAT can penetrate any tank with ease.

2) Superior guidance method.
Each method had pros and cons. Laser homing allows firing from enclosed positions, external targeting.

3) Bigger warhead/more destruction power
As I mentioned above LAHAT has advantage here.

4) No time for tank to react, tank only has LESS THAN 0.5 SECOND to take counter measures, after it realizes that KOMBAT is coming for kill..and NOTHING can save the tank at this point.
In order to target KOMBAT tank should stay on LOS for 17 seconds + targeting time thats some 25 seconds total. LAHAT as I mentioned earlied can be fired from closed position. And 0.5 second by the way is more than enough for automatic system to react.

5) Superior ability to penetrate advance Active Protection Systems such as TROPHY etc...
Again quite on contrary. Thanks to lofted trajectory LAHAT is much harder to intercept.

So overall LAHAT's advantages:

1) Penetration (thanks to lofted trajectory).
2) Range.
3) Ability to fire from closed positions.
4) Higher chance to penetrate active protection.

Kombat has only one advantage: less exposure to laser detectors.

I gave you the link there too... Had you read that... before posting you wouldn't be making a clown of yourself.
Nag seeker the current cadmium zinc telluride IIR seeker doesn't work well during the day at 4 km range[although it still works well upto 2.5km]... during summer in Thar when day temperature sores as high as 55degree Celsius... most of the seeker fail at such temperate as the difference is not much between surroundings and the target.

Those 443 missiles are inducted in armor strike divisions based in Punjab where the line of sight is not more than 2.5km due to trees electricity poles etc.. etc.

The failed trials were done on the improved seeker which hit once and failed 4-5 times... more work is being done on the seeker to reduce its shortcomings at extremely high temperatures... there's also an mmw seeker which works at any temperature...however it exposes the missile carrier to be detected by enemy fighter aircraft.

All of them have weakness then. They are more prone to jamming, and tanks can be alerted BEFORE the ATGM is even fired.

Plus, all modern ATGMs don't have laser designation.

1) Range

Both your guidance method uses laser as the primary source... while laser guidance enables other buddy tanks in forward zone or elevated position to guide the missile fired by a buddy tank to the target enemy tank... even infantry/AV/Helo gun ships can do the guidance.. allowing the tank to remain hidden in low profile without the need to constantly paint the target with its own laser which is not the case with beam riding where the tank has to come in open and constantly paint the target with its own laser to beam ride the missile exposing it self to retaliatory fire and jamming is also high here... once the leaser beam is disturbed the missile can loose its path.

Lahat has many advantages... its warhead is bigger too... with more powerful HE warhead.

125mm Guided Rounds

According to fofanov Kombat can penetrate 700-750mm RHA armor -50mm for ERA 1st gen.[most tanks including T-90S have above 1000mm protection against HEAT.]
Lahat can do 800mm -50mm for ERA 1st gen... what makes lahat even better s its almost top attack capability.

Nag failure and circumstance has been discussed in my above post go through....

Shtora are useless on MBTs today they are absolute and would only expose the tank to enemy... besides that I posted a video here on lahat.. note its trajectory before concluding BS.

i have a problem with this one,as far as i know-from what i have read- mmw seeker does not work in all temperature.

The mmw seeker works at very high frequencies for EMW... or radar wave its beam provide co-ordinates of the target.. It requires a lot of hard work and proper programming of the seeker as the clutter content is very high near the ground.. such seekers are unaffected by thermal variations however for extreme temperature which tend to change conduction properties or damage semiconductor composition which generally is not the case on our planet.

Lahat's warhead is bigger? Stop making a clown outa yourself and first study something before opening your mouth.

Plus: This post is not Lahat vs KOMBAT , as I stated in the OP too, so I'm not replying here...Also, you make alotttttt of mistakes when talking about ATGMs etc...

For example :

Kombat can penetrate 700-750mm RHA armor

This is more pathetic than a joke. KOMBAT can penetrate atleast 800mm of RHA armor...

1200hp/48tn=25

Al Khalid-1 Power/Weight ratio is 25

The engine is 1200hp (upgraded) ...

Lahat warhead is more powerful HE warhead... this has peen proved many times.

Study what... you never read what I posted in the link in my previous posts and come up with you Big mouth...

Mistakes such as ?

And how do you know It does 800mm penetration ?

Here again I post the link.

125mm Guided Rounds

Its naturally a pathetic joke when something is below the expected horse high expectation for you r types.

And as If it matters weather lahat has bigger warhead or not... It is top attack and can hit on the top parts of hull and turret and destroy any tank whatsoever.

While even If Kombat had 800mm RHA penetration figures It falls well short of modern tank armor such as in Leo2A5/6, Merkava Mk4, T-90A/S/C/MS/AM, M1A2, Arjun etc..etc.. only way a kill is possible is through a lucky shot on sides or more than one round at the same place.

. .
The official site says "Armour penetration behind ERA not less than 750 m" for Kombat atgm

Тhe anti-tank guided missile systems KOMBAT and KONUS

The site says Kombat has 9 kg warhead including a 3 kg explosive charge.

Lahat warhead weights 4.5 kg (wiki) . If wiki is right then lahat has much lesser warhead right?

Official promotional video of KOMBAT states it 800mm ....

And you are right...KOMBAT carries heavier, more powerful warhead.
