Commander 111 Brigade changed

Many western nations take a dim view of nations run by dictators wearing funny uniforms. ( Anyone remember Muammar Q.).

But so many dictators are/were very dear to them.

what has this got to do with the sacking of def secy?y is ii called tit for tat?i mean sacking one of ur own guys?it is not at all logical or true.it was a routine posting as far as i am concern

111 brigade is the one which leads coups against dumbass prime ministers. The new brigadier must be Kiyani's righthand man, so that if government does any foolish thing, he will bang the PM's behind.

Is the new commander from SSG but timing was awesome the day full of political crisis and last thing needed was this news oc change of commander it created lot of panic among our corrupt government

Stable Brigade ?

A Brigade is a basic military formation, how can it be stable / unstable ?

At worst it Commander can.

I think what he meant to say was that it is one of the most disciplined and well trained brigade which it indeed is. It is armed to the teeth as its regiments are based out on artillery, air defence, armoured assets and i believe they have two companies of SSG commandos.

This I believe is the composition of the brigade.

"The brigade comprises five Infantry battalions drawn from all the regiments, including two Artillery batteries, one Air Defense battery, one paratrooper battalion, and one armoured squadron. The brigade also includes two SSG companies which are commanded by the Captain according to their ranks."

Army wont do any thing......

Its only Supreem Court, which has to do justice either in the favor or against gov.

After that it may be possible , Army makes arrests.

.
This is not an Independent Bde. It is under a Div which is under the RWP Corps. Everything is under the Army HQ. PA is an well-oiled machine for IS duties and coupes. Robust chain of command exists. The Chief decides whatever to do. Command is carried out automatically.

What post has the previous brigade commander now got?

In Addition to whatever Notorious said,
Stability is what 111 is supposed to do; this brigade's only job is to defend the capital and it never moves.

Importantly 111's commander is Chief's right hand man, and 111'a commanders are not changed in a tit for tat move;
thus my comments regarding stability of the force, and how PPP is starting to infect.

As for the previous comments by Penumbra, Kiyani has the right policy that he will not be the one to topple the government,
and I agree it is the Court's responsibility; but unless they grow a pair I am not sure what they will be able to achieve.
Whatever order they give, the government will slow it down and block it in red tape....

.
Why not ask the supreme court to issue orders to dismiss this corrupt government. Put all their names on No Exit List and arrest them and put them in Jail. Then Call in elections early. Trust me, if Army wants it's respect back, they better act now.

111 Brigade or not, the time has come to make these goons pay.

Supreme Court cannot issue orders to dismiss a democratically elected Government. However the supreme court can declare someone ineligible for their post. Supreme Court can also order the military to implement its decision if the civilian government refuses to do so.

By the way the list is called Exit Control List, there is no 'No Exit List'.

A democratically elected administration (not government per se) gives your nation a certain gravitas among nations.
Many western nations take a dim view of nations run by dictators wearing funny uniforms. ( Anyone remember Muammar Q.).
Generally people do not like to deal with generals who pretend to know how to fix everything except the art of soldiery.
In the long run that is bad news for common people of Pakistan.
In any case you have plenty of vivid examples in recent history to gauge the success of another military junta.
Did you achieve any long-term national goals with gen Ayyub, gen. Yahya, gen. Zia, gen. Musharrraf?
They come in on a wave of popularity, make the trains run on time for a bit, then get bogged down and start recruiting the same politicians they clamoured to eliminate and herald an era of purity and piety in your land of the purified muslims. They cut shady deals with any and everyone to keep themselves in power. They talk religion, honor, Kashmir, Palestine and kiss the ring on the Saudi monarch. They eventually wilt to the pressure of all and everyone including the reviled US and leave the country worse off that they had found it.

Democracy has also allowed your great general Kayani ( and by extension the millitary) to withstand withering US pressure under the guise of political will of the people as enunciated by 'them corrupt cowards' of parliamentary politicians. Otherwise he would have had very little leeway when asked to act according to US plans. If you do not believe me ask Musharraf, his predecessor.

I hope Pakistan continues to build on democracy.

........BTW current contentions within the state of Pakistan are primarily on the Iranian gas & oil v Saudi subservience with a distant deal with US. It may appear rather far fetched in RA bazar "it is what it is"

WHILE ON THE SUBJEC OF DICTATOR, DEMOCRACY,& Mr G or Q -- INTERESTING ARTICLE..

Gaddafi, the man who came to dinner
December 09, 2011

John Swinton, the doyen of the New York press corps, upon his retirement, made the following speech:

There is no such thing, at this stage of the worlds history in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dare write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my papers, before twenty four hours, my occupation would be gone. The business of the journalist is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, fawn at the feet of Mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting of an independent press? We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes. I do understand that you have to eat like all of us and therefore must keep your mouth shut. You are Jewish and so am I. (Sephardic).

For the sake of truth, I will give you here another side to the Libyan story. Just imagine a country where there is no electricity bill. Electricity is free to all its citizens. There is no interest on loans; banks were state owned and loans given at zero percent interest by law. Having a home was considered a human right. All newlyweds received US$ 50 000 from the govt to buy their first apartment and to help them start a family. Education and medical treatments were free.

Before Gaddafi, 25% of the population were literate. Today this figure is 83 percent. Should Libyans want to take up farming, they would receive land, a farmhouse, equipments, seeds and livestock to kick start their operation, absolutely free of charge. If citizens could not find the education or medical facilities they needed, the govt would fund them to go abroad, free of charge, and would get some US$2,300 per month for accommodation and car allowance. Cars were government subsidised to the tune of 50%. Fuel prices were $0.14 per litter. The country had no external debt and its reserves amounted to some $170 billion, now frozen globally plus some 27 tons of gold, which the new regime found safely in the National Bank. Any graduate unable to find a job would get the average salary for the profession, as if he/she was employed, until employment found. A portion of oil sales were credited once a year to every citizen bank account. A mother who gave birth, immediately got some $5000. Forty loaves of bread cost $0.15. 25% of citizens have a university degree. An immense project bringing water from aquifers in the south made it available all over the country, free of charge.

That is what that tyrant Gaddafi gave to his people. There are some 150 tribes in Libya and a strong hand was necessary if the country was to remain in one piece. Every citizen was in possession of a military weapon. Gaddafi was not frightened of his own people. The so called rebels, who took over, so we are told, would not have lasted a few days without Nato air power, British and French commandos and thousands of mercenaries. Those are the winners.

Now another Karzai has been installed in Tripoli, and the country can be plundered at the victors whim and fancy. It takes $1 to extract a barrel of Libyan oil and today’s price is over $100. Total the French company has already grabbed some 30% of the Libyan state oil company. BP is starting exploration. And of course massive contracts for the reconstruction of Libya will be handed over to US and European companies. Of the sovereign fund, only some 1.2 billion have been released out of the $170 billion. With the state of the European economy, I doubt very much if Libya will see the rest any time soon. Now Libyans are free as you say, but as Janice Joplin used to say freedom is just another word for nothing else to lose, as Libyan queuing for funds at their banks door are finding out. Gaddafi is gone and so are the perks. What will be left is a terrible civil war. The price of democracy

It is the joyous jiggling dance Americans do USA USA- when their government slaughters someone illegally. It is primitive, but it is positively Libyan. Wrong. It is positively American Just saw a movie on the training of the US Army before going to Iraq. Soldiers running and singing: Kill the women Kill the children Then we are shown the results when civilians are gunned down in the streets by those braves. All on film. When they come back home, realizing what they have done, they just commit suicide These are ordinary Sunday soldiers with families.

We can hide the truth with prison sentences, but the truth eventually come through, and unfortunately for us we cannot plug the dyke any longer.
