I'm going to have a musicgasm. I'm not a big music aficionado but listen to classical music once in a while and thanks to Rohail Hayat's Coke Studio we got a breath of fresh music in the form of fusion of traditional music with new instruments and got to hear great singer again. Husain Baksh Gullo and Faisal Kapadia, Ali Azmat and Rahet Fateh, Saeein Zahoor and Noori jamming together was really memorable.

For those who are unaware of the show, it's a live music show where the best, the greatest of Pakistani music jam together to create a mesmerizing experience.

Coke Studio will be back on June 6 and the list of musicians is awesome. Tina Sani, Abida Parveen, Arif Lohar ---> awesome

Singers this season:-

Abida Parveen, Amanat Ali, Arieb Azhar, Arif Lohar, Aunty Disco Project [A.D.P], Entity Paradigm [E.P], Fakir Juman Shah, Karavan, Meesha Shafi, Noori, Rizwan & Muazzam, Sanam Marvi, Tina Sani and Zeb & Haniya.

Houseband:-

Asad Ahmed on guitar, Babar Ali Khanna on dholak, Jaffer Ali Zaidi on the keyboard, Javed Iqbal on Violin, Kamran “Mannu” Zafar on Bass, Louis “Gumby” Pinto on Drums, Omran “Momo” Shafique on guitar, Saba Shabbir on backing vocals and Zulfiq “Shazee” Ahmed Khan on multi percussions. Joining the house band this season are Sanam Saeed and Zoe Viccaji as backing vocalists and Sikander Mufti on multi-percussions. This year we introduce guest musician Noor Zehra Kazim on sagar veena and welcome back flautist Baqir Abbas and Sadiq Sameer with his rubab.

No they were not but I don't give a damn.

Classical music has been sidelined by most today.

The real deal is the return of Tina Sani. Abida Parveen, Arif Lohar, Sanam Marvi and Fakir Juman Shah are the real deal.

Coke studio Back! Awesome man... I m such a fan of Coke Studio... Are Zeb and Hania in too? Ah yess I see them :D They rocked with their songs in the previous seasons. Hope they continue with it.

Sorry can't see youtube clips cuz its banned :(

there is hell of difference between ep and linkin park........
also people here are talking about the classical music surely there is no such classical touch in that........

I was googling coke studio season 3 at 3 am in the morning and among the first things i saw was this discussion. Intrigued by a words like "musicorgasm" and "coke studio" on a website named "Pakistan Defence Forum", I naturally had to click on the link. Next when I saw the OP in fact lives near where I do I had to join the forum as well!

Well, back to the topic at hand, I am sure the new Coke Studio will rock like it did last couple of times. I am very excited about it although I noticed a lot of names I am not familar with, which is a good thing because it will lead to wonderful surprises like Paimona... Anyone knows more Fakir Juman Shah?
