Cobra Helicopter AH-1F SQD Transferred to Pakistan

Geo News is reporting American has transferred a SQD of Cobra helicopters to Pakistan. The type is AH-1S and they have been transferred from Jordan.

This will be much needed help and addition of firepower especially in the upcoming Orakzai Agency Operation.

ISLAMABAD: The United States has delivered a squadron of 14 AH-1 Cobra advanced helicopter gunships to Pakistan, Geo News reported Tuesday.

According to details, the AH1-F Cobra helicopter gunships, equipped for night flying, has been supplied by the US from its Jordan Air Base stock.

The helicopters were handed over to Pakistan Army Aviation.

That is what Pakistan army need real weapons to go against Afghanistan's terrorist , elements 80 helicopers and lets move in Afghanistan FULL FORCE !!!

We really need 80 helicopters, and 20 A-10 Thunderbolt

We need a setup where we do 3 shifts of attacks morning , after noon, and evening operations ... after each operation the army soliders go in clear out the remaining elements - lets just do this GET it done

We can crush ALL the rouge elements in there and lets de-arm the conflict zone , and protect civilians -

If we do not do a massive operation these 3-5 or at time 50-30 people will keep surfacing up they need to be crushed and we need to secure Afghanistan

We move in 40,000 troops in , Nato forces , do house to house search on their side we strangle the terrrorist and as Nato forces head home we take over the protection of civilians and setup security posts , and use UAV survailence to monitor people movement , and we can do joint operations vs any intelligence that there are terrorist planning something ...

Pakistan has to send in 40,000+ troops into Afghanistan really - that is the only solution go in with Nato and just do it right

We can't afford out twin broters to be victimized by Talibans again only Pak Army can safeguard Afghanistan just like we cleared house in swat

it's a decent news....but i don't think for all that we are doing in war on terror and the support that we are giving to U.S some 12-14 more cobras are enough to compensate our damages. It's ridiculous for all the sacrifices which Pak Armed forces are doing for the Pakistani and espescially U.S interests atleast give Pakistan some new hardware. i'm not saying that cobras aren't good enough but we also need some new and better chopers. We must increase the security levels/measures of our soldiers too.

In my personal opinion i'm really pissed of from these americans they always expect the maximum results and dosen't wants to give us more mordern hardware....they are just using us

Well, whether it is old or new, our army must need this kind of helicopter to destroy damn terrorists and other matters, which currently we are at war right now and need to save our soldiers' life.

New beauty helicopters like AH-64 Apache gunships and Turkish T-129, we will consider this later if we can afford it.

Maybe we can upgrade them later from turks or US. we had 1S before which were later upgraded to 1F.
