COAS leaves for Brussels to attend NATO meeting
RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani left for Brussels on Tuesday at the special invitation of NATO Military Committee Chairman Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, to participate in a meeting of army chiefs of different countries. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the military committee is the highest forum of NATO, which meets regularly to discuss various strategic issues. Kayani during his two-day visit will present Pakistans perspective on the security situation in the region and will also emphasise the need for a comprehensive approach to deal with the complex security situation. Kayani will also hold separate meetings with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and US Chairman Joint Staff Admiral Michael G Mullen to discuss matters of mutual interest. staff report
