CM-400AKG: Pakistan's supersonic carrier killer

Any info on price per unit?

Not yet. Its still not developed. So these informations have to wait.

In case of joint venture between Pakistan and China , can they develop a hyper-sonic missile like Brahmos II?

Again the Brahmos II havent been developed yet buddy. Moreover its too immature to talk about block 2, when the first prototype is under development of cm 400

i think artical clearly says ''One major difference between the two missiles is that the CM-400AKG is still in development and there is no evidence of tests.'' :P then why kolaveri di by pakistani members?

Prototype??

The missile is in PAF service since 2010-11.

Read the article. It shows missile is under development.
November 23, 2012: China found its first export customer (Pakistan) for its new CM-400AKG supersonic cruise missile. With a max range of 250 kilometers and a guidance system that includes GPS, onboard radar, and an image recognition system that can identify a specific target, this new missile uses its high speed to evade defenses on ships. In all these respects the CM-400AKG is very similar to the Indo-Russian BrahMos. One major difference between the two missiles is that the CM-400AKG is still in development and there is no evidence of tests. This “sale” may be a ploy by the Chinese manufacturer to determine if it will be worth the huge expense to actually make this missile work.

Now read this...

"Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has become the first export customer for supersonic CM-400AKG missile. The Deputy Project Director of the JF-17 Thunder/FC-1 Xiaolong fighter jet program, Air Commodore Mahmood Khalid has said, "This is a mature weapon that has been fully tested. It is not conceptual. It is in service. It hits the target at Mach 4 or above and its kinetic impact alone is enough to destroy any high-value target, like an aircraft carrier. The CM-400AKG is a very high-speed missile that is very difficult to intercept."

Is there any video of testing of that missile? Like launching from an aircraft?
Cos there are many conflicting reports. Cos this article shows, they are developing, ur article shows, its matured and inducted :what:

Quoting H. Khan from pakdef.info...

"JF-17 is equipped for Stand-Off Missile (SOM). The weapon is designated as CM-400 AKG which is a land-attack variant of C-802. It is also known as CM-802/400 AKG. This missile is heavier than C-802 but it is somewhat shorter.

CM-400 AKG is fitted with an imaging infrared seeker (replacing the original radar seeker) plus a datalink. A new blast/fragmentation warhead, better matched to infrastructure targets, has also been added. The missile weighs about 700 kg and has an effective range in the 200-280 km bracket.

Here is a list of weapon platform so far for JF-17

Air-to-Air Missiles: PL-12/SD-10C, PL-5E, MAA-1A, and MAA-1B

Air-to-Ground Missiles: CM-802/400 AKG SOM, and MAR-1 SOD

LGM-JDAMS: LS-6 (Lei Shi 6) 250kg, 500kg, and 750kg

Anti-Ship-Missiles: C-802A 180km range. It made a direct hit at 90km in its first test when fired from JF-17."

Yaraa can the JF-17 even use these missiles (the C-802A & the CM-400 AKG SOM) to anything close to its full range seeing that the current radar wouldn't be able to detect anything beyond 75 Kms.

I can understand the argument that the AWACs or some ground stations radars would be able to interface with it in the manner of speaking that the JF-17 serves as a platform to fire from whereas the guidance (or detection) could be from elsewhere but we really should be looking at a better radar than the KLJ-7 !

radar does not have to guide the missile in either case, particularly when the missile has on-board seeker that activates during flight trajectory. Active guidance is the name of the game here.

Unfortunately, no videos yet as far as i know :(

No but wouldn't the JF-17 be at the perpetual mercy of AWACs or Ground Radar Stations beyond a certain detection range ? Is that an acceptable scenario or are there any developments in the pipe to address this ?

Its range is more than 240km, you need to know that an enemy ship will be there to attack. Look-down range of any radar will be lesser than a2a mode.

KLJ-7 has sufficient range and modes to do the job.

Does it have more than 150 km range in look down mode?
