Classy Shakib vs. Ordinary Sehwag

One more interesting info for you. Jason was dropped after that performance.
AFAIK he is only the second player in the history to be dropped after scoring a double ton.

This thread is becoming more informative

That was the last test of Jason's career. He haven't played any test after that.

Thats the good thing about Aussies. They even dropped Steve Waugh overnight before 2003 WC.

They didnot hesitated to drop symonds either when he did not attended team meeting before a match against Bangladesh.

Aussi cricket wants best of the players.

Jason was obviously not a batsman. He was sent as a night watchman when he hit 201.

If he is not bowling well obviusoly the aussies are not interested in his batting.

Test record of Bangladesh

Mat : 62

Won : 3
Lost : 53
Draw : 6

This is the reason that Bangladesh is an ordinary team.

And people will say that, all other teams also waited long to get the first victory. But the point is they drew a lot many on their skills. Go back in hostory and check about those 6 drawn matches, my bet most of them would be rain curtailed matches.

Sad thing is that they lose much before the last day. On their skills alone they can hardly take the game on to the last session. This match also, due to poor conditions we lost more than a day and still we beat them comfortably.

This is why a Jatt told the ture facts. They are still an ordinary team.

In last 10 years India has played every test against BD in BD and yet BD has managed only 1 draw and rest all defeats.

That was a rain curtailed match

BY winning the test India has cemented its # 1 Test Position while Bangladesh has cemented its last position.

India had nothing to win from this match. Well if we would have lost this, then we would have lost 18 points that would have seriously brought us down in the ranking

Even this match many overs were lost due to bad light still the Bangladeshi's could not draw the match.

Our next series is with SA who is on 2nd spot. We must win both the tests against BD and cement our position so that even if we have a draw or defeat against SA in either or both games then our # 1 spot remains intact.

Yes, the next 4 matches are all with SA, the more we win against them the better for us, Draw wont change the ratings much but a loss will heavily damage us.

I am hoping for 4 straight wins against them, then only we can cement. As said earlier, we have nothing to win and everything to lose in this current series.

calling a team ordinary is disrespectful and wrong. Bangladesh showed that they can fight India. We Indians need to show more respect to Bangladesh - you never know when they would start beating us. Did the Australians or English imagine India beating them in the 1950s ?

We have got 2 tests and 3 ODI's at home against the Proteas.

How calling someone an ordinary team (which is fact btw) is disrespectful????

We Indians need to show more respect to Bangladesh

Why? For what?

Forget Cricket. BD can't even compete to us in Kabaddi, Football etc.

Besides respect is something mutual. What kind of respect you get from BD?

you never know when they would start beating us.

We will stop referring them as ordinary then. Till then spare us.

BD has never travelled India for tests. If they are like this at their own turf then what they will perform in India?

Even Sri Lanka is yet to win a test in India.

Sports man spirit is not present among some Indian members. The point is not whether Ind can beat BD or BD is an ordinary team or not.

The point of the thread is that we need to show class and sportsman spirit in all sports and Sehwag clearly lacks that. It takes a lot to be a gentleman and a sarak chahp admi couldn't leave his mentality behind.

One benefit of sportsman like conduct is that you are not made fun of when you are at the recieving end.

The thing about Indians is that they wholeheartedly support their team.

Even in Austrailia once Gilchrist had said wherever we play against India they get a home like support and Austrailia is no exception for that.

Ab Sehwag ne bol diya to bol diya. We will support him without giving a damn about sportman spirit.

Besides Pakistani cricket team's sportsman spirit towards India is well known hence I would suggest you not to advice us on it.

Same goes with Tamim Iqbal who thinks he is Afridi and hence show as much as agression to Indians. From time to time Tamim must be reminded that he is nothing but an ordinary.

Well Sehwag termed them ordinary and thats for now, when they start becoming a competitive side they will definitely earn respect.

If you are asked to term them how would you have rated them?

Yeah we are playing 2 against them in this visit.

India never thought that it would be at No 1 spot and the money hungry BCCI had only 2 tests against BD and 2 against SA. Now as you know winning against BD wont get us any points, so to be able to keep our No 1 spot we need to play a lot against better teams and preferably win them . Thats why BCCI requested SA board to accommodate 2 tests during our visit to SA later this year, which they obliged ( STUPID BCCI never allocates more tests). If I am given a chance I will keep atleast 12 tests per year :)

Well if speaking truth is non sports man like spirit then I definitely lack it, and I am not depressed not to have that.

If you ask who was more modest among the two I would say Sakib, no doubt but then it was not a personal attack.

BTW, we love our sadak chap cricketer who was just about to break DON's record last month ( 3 triple centuries) :azn:
