CIA mulls targeting Pak diplomats abroad: report

Realistically.. let the courts decide on Davis first..
Let the Americans know in no uncertain terms.. that while we value their support...and co-operations.. we dont value dictation.
Secondly..
hit the local extremists first..the Afghan Taliban arent the problem..and hit them hard..
in the cities.. villages.. or the mountains..

Let the current democratic system continue.. without inviting another dictator in..
since they usually end up sleeping with the mislead nutjobs one way or the other.

Agreed, and succinctly put Sir. :D

Did anybody read that???? Seems like the game has already begun.

you are 100% wrong here
without ISI, CIA/America cannot stay in Afghanistan for long and in result will loose $$ ,
Without CIA, ISI and Pakistan had lived b4 after becoming Nuclear power in 1999 so they can due it again ? maybe this time with some more financial issues but still it can be handled...

So the END result is if CIA want to leave Afghanistan they need ISI and ISI just not let the play in Pakistan....

ISI/Pakistan had always need CIA since ur independence ..remember CEATO, SENTO...
ISI has been useful to CIA only becoz of Afghanistan..other than that ISI doesnot have any cards to play.If u use that card and burn it in the process..USA might have to lose in Afghanistan and go back home..but before u that do remember what u r going to lose..

what help we need from cia apart of afghanistan.
In afghanistan they need isi more than isi need cia.

I respect Master Khan's point of view. Indeed the CIA are truly people you do not want to cross. However, let's not lose one important fact, the govt has been complicit with the CIA, and these black operatives for a long time. Therefore, this seems like a calculating move, something has impelled them to take a stand when they normally would not, therefore do you not think that the reason compelled to take a stand is truly significant, and is therefore worth fighting. Your thoughts please.

I really think Pakistan needs to play smart here unless you guys have got commitment from China that they will give you billions of dollar/Yuan in aid every year. Taking on USA headon will mean you will not have any friends in Eurpoe as well. Russians anyways are not at good terms with you. You will only be left with China. No multi nation agency will give fund for projects/aid to your country.

hello indian, u speak like pakistan is US slave and let them do drone attacks, then when pakistan stands for its own integrity u say pakistan is being china proxy, seriously guys u indians need some mental health to discuss issues...

china didnt make davis attack on daylight on pakistanis, pakistanis and not chinese half way across the world that are pressurizing the govt to behave... seriously guys u need some vitamin tablet..

LOL!!!

You really are unbelievable Mastan... As soon as I read a few lines of your drivel here I thought you shouting... "Right. Now where is my money!!!"

So let me say something back to you... Big Kid!!! You take your advice to your buddy Americans and tell them to back off... Or they ll dig a hole wide enough for them to fall into it...

We dont have to do anything... trust me... a dog who has rabies dies on its own after a while... this is what is the attitude of Americans today on these issues...

Aaye Hayee Hayee Hayee,,, So precious words M.Bin-Qasim.... there cannot be a better analogy for this Dajjal...

Thanks.

WASHINGTON: Suffering irreparable loss after blowing up of Raymond Davis’ cover in Lahore, the American premier intelligence apparatus is contemplating a tit-for-tat trapping or targeting Pakistani counterparts serving as diplomats abroad.

Well-placed diplomatic sources told Online on condition of anonymity here on Thursday that they had noticed vibes clearly indicating level of frustration and annoyance, especially at the Central Investigation Agency (CIA) upon Islamabad’s constant denial to release Davis on blanket immunity.

According to the sources, putting Davis on trial in Pakistan on charges of double murder in Lahore is proving to be the loss of not just the cover of an agent but also that of a “key asset” in the intelligence jargon for CIA.

“Therefore, it is unlikely that they (American intelligence apparatus) would let it go without returning it to the Pakistani counterparts one way or the other,” the sources added. “Easy prey of this revenge design of the Americans could be Pakistani intelligence staff serving abroad, chiefly in US, Europe, and Afghanistan,” the sources observed. This is already clear for sure that the so-called intelligence sharing in the war on terror has hit a moratorium due to Raymond Davis case.

The sources also informed Online that White House as well as State Department had already cancelled all official invitations to Pakistan’s Ambassador Hussain Haqqani here. “All the US administration outfits in the capital are also under instructions to seek clearance from the White House before interacting with Haqqani, even for official urgencies,” the sources added.

The sources also recalled that Ambassador Haqqani was summoned twice to White House for making demarche even before Senator John Kerry was dispatched to Pakistan for pleading Davis’ diplomatic immunity. The sources pointed out that envoys are generally summoned at the State Department for making demarche as per the diplomatic norms and practices in vogue. “The White House summoning Haqqani twice had clearly indicated that it was CIA’s pressure on the back,” the sources added.

The row over the diplomatic immunity of Davis is still on between the two countries, bringing the bilateral relations to a historic low. The US is claiming diplomatic immunity to Davis while Pakistan is insisting that its courts would decide his status as well privilege, which has strained the relations. Analysts in US believe that ripples of Davis issue could lead to early elections in Pakistan. The incumbent term of the ruling PPP ends in February 2013.

CIA mulls targeting Pak diplomats abroad: report

Tit for tat won't work here.Anything similar will expose where it is coming from.Think of something else. The diplomat card is not going to help as a response.
And adding some salt on wounds the Pakistani intelligence still has started exposing individuals ,got another person( a US national) living illegally in Peshawar. Will they call him a diplomat as well.:P

Hi,

First of all---I want to let you know that I love all of you---even though some of you are hopping mad at me. It is a misnomer that we bend over to the u s---no we don't---I would request my colleagues to take that concept out of the discussion. We react to our poilitical strength and weaknesses---we react according to our financial position in the world community.

What is happening today was very evident from day two on 9/12/2001---what was coming was of no surprise to anyone except for the pakistanis---you pay the price for the games that the pak millitary has played----either it didnot understand the issues at hand at that time----it didnot have the capability to comprehend the significance of the level of the threat that was coming---it basically didnot understand the consequences---.

The mindset that the pak millitary had and the pak public had was that it was an american issue---they had created it---they are the ones who are going to suffer from it---we didnot do anything to create this scenario---so technically we should not be worried about the consequences----. That is where the pak mentality stopped to think any further regarding the issue for many a years to come---that was the thinking of the pak millitary as well.

Paks and pak millitary were just waiting for a vietnam to be made of the u s----now what is happening in pak is lso a part of what happened in and around vietnam---indeed a vietnam has been made of the u s----but then the neighbours have also got to pay the price of being in the viccinity.

Which one of you didnot know that the agency will enter pak and setup stations after the nuc explosions---which one of you didnot know that they would be coming in droves after 9/11 and will be doing their thing the way they do it---if you people didnot know it---then let me remind you---the rest of the world knew what was coming----and that means---THE IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NOT AN EXCUSE---just because you people didnot want to accept it---didnot mean that it would not hasppen.

The Davis issue---consider it a blessing in disguise---consider it a blessing from Allah---that he got caught in the way he did---the world media got onto the case and everyone knows about what is happening---so---now you have the excuse to slowly round them up and send them back home---you have been given a venue---a way out which popped out of nowhere---.

So---be nice about it---be firm about it---and move ahead with life---. Davis is like a dead weight---like an anchor tied to pakistan as of now----cut it of----let it go and move ahead with your life----you have made a very valid point----prosecute him---if that is what you want to do---sentence him and then send him back----.

His presence in pakistan can flare up into a bigger problem which we may regret later on.

Hi,

So--is this how the warriors of islam supposed to act----instead of having a game plan and strategy we are calling them a rabid dog who will die in due time----is this all you have left in you----is this the mentality of the young pakistani muslims is now----. Is that you strategy for a conflict---call your enemy a rabid dog and wish him death---.

Sir----what a true warrior of the realm you are---. Now is that what young pakistani muslims boys being taught in school----to take the opponent in a callous manner and declare them a parasite---and once you declare them a parasite---then naturally they will die in due time----just because you have declared them a parasite and as you did that ----then as they are parasites---then they have to die the death of a parasite----.

W'allah----you are indeed a genius of the first grade---how may are there any more like you!!!

Well ladies n gents according to Mr Mastan=We r DOOMED.

I guess most of us are willin to pay the price....

CIA mulls targeting Pak diplomats abroad: report

what bull really - online? what is this?
the americans are on the 'back-foot' AFAIK. no 'sanctions' are being considered as they dont serve as purpose. the bi-latereral meetings will be held in march - read the speech Hillary Clinton gave at the Asia Society's Series of Richard C Holbrooke Memorial Adresses and make your own conclusions - (the RD case will be settled sooner or later) - the broader strategic objectives cannot and will not depend on this one incident.

excerpts from the speech.....

...it is no secret we have not always seen eye-to-eye with pakistan on how to deal with these threats or on the future of afghanistan. but as a result of growing cooperation between our governments, militaries, and law enforcement agencies and determined action by the Pakistan Army, we have been able to dramatically expand our counter-terrorism and intelligence efforts.....

....whether we live in kabul or islamabad or washington, we need to share a common vision for the future.....

....from the tigris to the indus, the region will never live up to its full potential until it is free of al-qaeda and its creed of violence and hatred. that is an inspiration that should unite every nation...

.....reconciliation---achieving it and maintaining it---will depend on the participation and support of afghanistan's neighbours, including and most importantly Pakistan. let me be blunt: we all need to be on the same page for this to work.....

its worth reading this major speech - raymond davis affair cannot and will not derail the larger picture - there is too much at stake here - it is now up to Pakistan to 'play its cards right' and not make decisions on 'emotion' and 'knee-jerk' reactions.
