CIA declassified documents Air War 1971 - PAF v IAF

Lol. Lost East Pakistan. Lost Turtuk in Gilgit Baltistan. Lost 5000 sq km in Sindh, West Pakistan. Surrendered 90k + troops. Lost 55% of population. Signed a humiliating Treaty of Surrender in a public display in former capital of East Wing. Evacuated from East Pakistan by Indian troops under protection.

And yet... "Hey look at this CIA report. We did so well!".
India also lost chambh ..... which was the most important geagraphical feature captured by anyone during the course of 1971 war in the western theatre........... pakistan did not lose any territory in sindh ..... what you are reffering to is a singal Para-commando raid in chachro .... which was ineffective at best and poor decision making at worse..... a ceasefire was signed which was later drafted into surrender.......
surrender in a public display in a ceremony i.e "professionally".
capital was well defended and during the course of "surrender" only the chiefs of Indian tri forces were present in dhaka .... Indian forces entered later....

Look away child, this is actually embarrassing that a smaller AF mauled the numerical superior AF. The smaller force was way away from his home. You can enjoy the 5000 sq kM that you got ;)

The exchanges along IB/WB were returned by both sides - most of their gains were either in desert or given up by us in order to improve tac posture. Actual territorial exchange occured at LC - Chhamb - Dewa with us and mostly barren gains for them in highlands.

I can go on to tell him about battle to battle stats but he has no stomach for it.

that is because military action must always be backed by political follow up ........... which in Pakistan's case never happened??
remember war is only a continuation of politics

WHICH POLITICS,?
YOU MEAN THE 50 HARAMI.S AND THERE PILLAY,S?

Performance of Pakistan airforce in 1971? Worst. Around 94k troops surrendered during 1971 and because they didn't trust their own government, there airforce and navy too due to there poor performance in war. Most of the time Pakistan was ruled by army unlike India and the army always tried to make themselves strong so Pakistan also invested in fighter plans and navy too much. They had modern equipment of that time for all the three branches of the army. But the machine didn't fight. It needs man skill and bravery and Pakistan army lacking of that. Despite of all modern aircraft 94k solder surrendered !
:blah::blah::blah: dude you should read neutral history.. this is rhetoric

Lol. Chachro was not only raided. It was also captured. India established a post office there and given an Indian pin code - 344503. It was only returned after the Shimla agreement. So yes. "ineffective".

Go stand in the corner and repeat like a parrot.
Aww. Little boy's feelings are hurt. Are you gonna cry?

WHERE is the evidence that Pakistan lost 5000 square kms of Sindh and Turtuk? If what you say is true then remember to post the links here otherwise it's just another piece of indian FAKE NEWS. Like all the other million pieces of indian FAKE NEWS.

The bangladeshi population means nothing to us as they are the same race as you indians. Not us Pakistanis.

Talking about 1971 bangladesh is like saying india lost over 35% of it's territory in August the 14th 1947.

No. What Brits gave you out of their territory is really their business. You military lost the eastern wing of your country. Big difference.

Google the rest.

Hangor didn't had bigger role to play than Ghazi.

The course of 1971 war would have been different in my opinion

1. Had PNS Ghazi not met the accident off the coast of Visakhapatnam.
2. Had Tejgaon not been neutralised.
3. Had Gen Niazi not decided to surrender despite having 20k to defend Dhaka.

PNS Ghazi had bigger role to play. Had it not met the accident it could had stopped the Naval Blockade of East Pakistan. Indians would have thought twice before bringing in INS Vikrant. Remember it was the same submarine used for Mumbai blockade in 1965.

Despite the heroics had PAF been able to secure Tejgoan for another week, Indian advance would have slowed considerably giving PA air cover and time for UN intervention.

Although East Pakistan was a lost cause, but had Gen Niazi decided to defend Dhaka with all remaining forces. A UN brokered withdrawal of Pakistan Army could have been negotiated thus avoiding surrender. Remember diplomacy takes time.

Despite all odds there is no denying of the fact that Pakistani forces put up an exceptional fight. Truth is India didn't win a war, all it did was to put an end date to a civil war.

Ultimately it would have made NO difference. Even if india had not got involved, the creation of bangladesh was ALWAYS inevitable. Doesn't matter if it happened in 1971, 1981, 1991,2001, 2011 or 2021 for that matter. bangladesh was created for the same reason that Pakistan was created.

India also gave kashmir the status of a Union territory ...... does not change the reality...... it was never "held".... you need to update your resources

(kindly do not reply this post with "Indian sources" or officials as the whole world knows that they are made up at best-especially after 27 feb)
