choice for india - nato vs SCO

doesn't matter how you analyze the situation: the fear of god chinese have struck into every indian mind and the genetic insecurity every indian born after 1962 must feel when they look north would mean that india would cheaply sell itself to nato and anglo-americans. And china has militarily prepared for this anyway, and it would mean a great deal of waste in our military buildup if india acts out of character and actually assumes its just position as a geopolitical dwarf in a sino-russian led SCO.

what can one make of nehru and his dream of glory in creating and leading the phoney non-alignment movement that he and subsequent indian wagmongers had to deflate after 1962? what indians did after 1962 - slavingly tethering themselves to soviet expansionism - proved how fake they were before.

Neither. NATO is sinking and becoming meaningless all the time as the days pass while SCO has no relevance in the present scenario other than Russia and China itself out of which we have limited defense ties with CAR countries with only Russia as the incentive.

I think as individual players, we are doing really well and have a positive image among world polities. We're better off far away from Alliances.

I believe that the SCO being a non-military setup, is a much better choice for India, than NATO. It will be dragged into meaningless wars for fulfilling the American self-imagery, though from what it looks, India will never join NATO. If it does however it will greatly benifit from the American lobby pushing them over and around things such as NPT and possibly in the future - a permanent membership at UNSC[ without veto]. Russia and China don't have much to offer them in comparison to NATO. The best way forward is to maintain your strategic autonomy whilst improving bilateral ties with China and U.S.A to the maximum extent.

Sadly my friend, the way things are shaping up, it is not possible for India to remain neutral for very long in the future.
India tried to remain non aligned during cold war but eventually it had to choose.( Warsaw Pact)

I think the best choice for India will be SCO.
Though NATO is the present , SCO is the future.

Lots of people saying India will not join SCO, there was reports earlier that India has pending membership in NATO, there was even a thread related to it in this forum.


India and interestingly Pakistan will be joining SCO soon.

The same people saying India wont join SCO will be seen jumping "hip Hip hurrays".

Do you really think India can or will be allowed to remain independent, it's becoming evident that there are forces acting on India to take a more decisive stance, ofcourse it wants to remain neutral but how?
