Chinese workers shot in Pakistan

So far all reports I've seen are calm and objective, or even low-pitched. Chinese people work everywhere in the world and most of us take Pakistani as reliable friends. there never be any drastic remarks over oversea Chinese victims since the US bomb kill in Belgrade in 1999, instead we hope and believe Pakistani government is capable to control it in trying circumstance.

below are reports by major Chinese media.

The chinese were killed not in Baluchistan, where all the chinese projects are said to be "taking away" their rights, but in NWFP. If there was an attack in baluchistan, I could easily understand, but in nwfp....

Here the fight has been between the taliban and the nato, with pakistan chipping in. Why would the taliban attack the chinese?

We know about chinese working on gwadar, so china has some project in nwfp also??????
what could have been the project?

Does this have an relation to chinese repression of muslims in china, due to the close proximity? If they have a relation, does it mean that taliban is spreading itself?

All questions, answers anyone?

Gunmen took video when killing Chinese workers, which was declaredly demonstrating their defiance against Pakistani government and the Sino-Pak tie. observe possibilities behind the scene and answers may come that it's nothing about projects, Chinese citizen is the key.

btw bhangra12345, pls show me facts of "Chinese repression of muslim".

You both are taking off completely tangentially. There is a problem for Uighur muslims in china.
I simply typed "china's repression of muslims" in google and got plenty of links(number is 1260000) for me from amnesty to human rights watch, to paste for the next few years. I wont paste even a single link because, it does not relate to the question over here, i.e.

i)"WHY WERE THE CHINESE ATTACKED IN NWFP?"
ii)"WHAT WERE THE CHINESE DOING THERE?"

NWFP as is the situation today is definitely not a tourist paradise, and the chinese were described as workers, what were they working on?

I heard they were working in an auto-rikshaw factory, is that right?
Oh but heres some additional info :
I typed muslims oppressed in India i got 1,230,000 hits
I typed dalits oppressed in India I got 110,000 hits
And finally I typed India Super Power I got 1,650,000 hits:woot:
But anyway lets not stray off topic here.

I heard they were working in an auto-rikshaw factory, is that right?
Are you confidently positive about it? I dont think they would be the regular factory workers, I think they will be "factory building workers". Is a new auto-rikshaw factory opening in Peshawar?

P.S.: Thanks for the info, especially the last part :)

So far what I found is that they were Independant business men, can anyone else help us out here?

not necessary for too much detail but workers, still, who are the they?

Translated from Qilu Report (an evening paper in China's eastern province, Shandong)

Zhao Jianguo, a 50-year old villager from Laiyang,Shandong, came to Peshawar 3 years ago along with his son,his nephew and one of his friends (they were high school mate). they rented a house 6 kms southeast to the city, making half of it habitable and another half for business on motorcycle accessories.

Later, with business downsliding, Zhao Jianguo transfered to soft-shelled turtle purchase, selling after processing back to homeland. Zhao said that the neighbors have no objection to their business, and they are in pretty nice relationship.

Interview with Zhou Jianguo's wife at their home in Laiyang.

"6:30, I was walking outside, when suddenly the phone rang hard. it's my husband, I had a sense of foreboding." Ms.Hou, Zhou's wife, holding a cellphone with her trembling right hand, sobbed, "on the phone, his voice changed so raucous, he said something has happened badly on us, you have to stay calm." Hou,wishfully, thought he was joking, "is it a fight between our son and others? hurt? " The husband was choked with sobs for a moment," last night there was a robbery, son and nephew and Lee all shot dead!" on hearing this, Hou fainted down to the ground.

simply dont just sit in judgement on others when not having a clue, and then ask google for help. Chinese muslim is right off topic here and you started it.
