China is way ahead of us in almost every field, no denying this fact. And if you follow Indian business news you will know how we admire them in certain respects and try to catch them in those fields. The problem is when some cheerleaders think of equating themselves with India, they have to be shown their rightful place.

Well to be clear, no-one is equating themselves to India. The article posted on this forum is itself of Indians comparing their LCA to JF-17. Both planes have been designed for the same purpose: to replace IAF & PAF's lower and medium end jets with something superior. PAF has achieved this with the jf-17 & many squadrons equipped with JF-17 are operational. Today, there no IAF squadrons equipped with LCA even after decades of LCA work. Despite the loud cries by Indians, the LCA is low tech plane, if it wasn't India wouldn't be investing billions in more mig-29s, SU-30s & French planes. Arguments about superiority of LCA hide the gross failure of the entire program. Nearly every major component of LCA is foreign.

Lets be fair.

China have benefited immensely from massive American investment in recent years. An internally stable country will grow leaps and bounds with foreign investment worth trillions of USD.

However, credit where due; Chinese tend to be hard-working.

China benefited more from western assistance than India? What planet do you live in? China is under western arms ambargo while India spends billions buying western equipment. Just look at the number of western components in the LCA & compare it to J-10 or any other Chinese equipment.

The composite construction in the rocket's structure all evolved from projects that were originally started for LCA.....

Thats the thing, it didnt "consistently" preform well. I cant tell you how easy it would have been to tell ISRO scientist to stop their work back then. To use outside services, etc.

Also DRDO ballistic missile programs back then, now look they're on a complete roll. Each successive program's development cycle keeps getting smaller, failures small to none.

Their early programs seemed like an "LCA" too.

You have to bite the bullet with these programs and take the plunge.

LCA is the lowest tier in the IAF, worry about the MKIs that are going to rush you.

LCA will develop into something more.
