Well, it is not much of an issue. No chance there would be any violence. If India do same thing in a sector China is weak, what can China do? Nothing. These are just tactics to keep pressure on govt to give impetus to border resolution.
It is not like with Pakistan that shooting will start. Best they do is to fight hand to hand. I have a cousin who was posted on China border . he told me many stories of hand to hand fight. The banner drills media talk about rarely happen.

But mate, you also need to appreciate the fact that neither IA nor PLA fire at each other. There literally is no border demarcation there, except for some military outposts in some areas. The Chinese also vacate those areas without being fired upon. Cannot be compared to the numerous airspace violations and ground bombing carried out over Pakistani soil by US in the past decade.

ps: I'm not defending IA's poor posturing wrt PLA. India is clearly not as adventurous against China as it is against Pakistan. Similarly, Pakistan isn't as aggressive against US as it is against India.

I doubt if this pattern will ever change. It's not like Indian Army does not commit any border violations. Just that China does not have an overvigilant and alarmist media like we do. Our Army may spend a month 10km inside Chinese side of LAC and the World may not even get any whiff of it.

Unless the LAC gets a demarcation and mutually corroborated maps, no amount of troop buildup on the border regions will change these willfull or ignorant transgressions.

Indian (British) and Tibetan done and border agreement called Mc mohan line , after that china invaded the tibet and didn't acknowledge the Mc Mohan line and wanted to increase it its border and want to grab more land and settle border in its own terms.
