Chinese Su-27 Flankers in Iran

These are Chinese PLAAF Su-27 Flankers accompanied with an IL-76 aircraft. These aircraft used Iranian aerospace on the way to Turkey for the "Anatolian Eagle" exercise with the Turkish Air Force.

Thus far, only two long-shot photos from the Tabriz runway strip are available. These images are from aerospacetalk.ir

The Su-27 is a magnificent aircraft, and was a huge leap forward for the USSR/Russia when it made its debut. Prior to the Su-27, MiG was the design bureau that produced cutting edge aircraft for the USSR. The torch has apparently been passed to the Sukhoi design bureau, who have produced some very potent warplanes in the last couple of decades.

I usually do not comment on unbalanced or ill-thought posts but China, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan, on their own, are not 'cake-walk.' Also, the USSR is at present, nonexistent and given the mire of relations within and between the former member states, it seems too distant a dream for it to be revived, in our lifetime anyhow by my most hopeful estimates. I'll add that revivalist sentiment is followed by a fringe in all the former SSRs.

This is more like it. If the leaders of India will sell their souls to America, then so it be. As for Pakistan, I'm not sure. They used to be great friends of the United States, and now kind of stopped to be friends, but who knows?
