Comparing India to China is Arrogant, Ignorant, and embarrassingly stupid.

China is better than India economically, in education, military, GDP per capita, GDP, GDP Power Purchasing Parity, Soft Power, Smart Power, etc.

In what way is India better than China. Please tell us.

China has more and better allies that India.

India is going to beat China by its population number in the near future, and this is something that everyone can agree with.

You have a good point, considering China has a high export to gdp. But the point i was trying to make is that saying INdia is 10 years behind China is not equal to saying india will be at par with china at 2021 as it seems to me that is what some posters are making it out to be. According to "estimates" it will be around 2050 when India will be at par with China. Ofcourse no one in the correct state of mind would kid himself into thinking he knows what will happen in 50 years, but that is what estimates indicate.

Not really but you are missing an important catch here. You can see that China's per capita is improving with every year and good for them but will the manufacturing continue to be cheap ? Unlikely. Think of all the little kids (thanks to one child policy) who will be more demanding and less accommodating. Prices are bound to rise and you know what, manufacturing has to spill over to Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Vietnam and not in that order and it depends who is good to pick up from there and substitute for the demand supply gap. Then what will happen ? I think you should read the book "wealth of nations" and it will give you some ideas about what I am trying to say but i am sure you get the drift.

It is ok, and most of the Chinese members don't really mind. They can even claim India is far ahead of China for all they want.

Our export consists 25% of our economy, and the reduction of our export gonna hurt our growth rate, but it isn't going to collapse our economy.

Since our economy also has shifted toward more consumption based as well.

And about 20% of your economy is the real estate. A third of your economy is run on oil processing and raw material processing for manufacturing. Think about what will be the real estate prices if the export comes crashing. Will the real estate prices be the same. Will there be no defaulters at the bank. Remember that 25% of the economy indirectly controls another 50%.

lol, don't you understand? India has more poor than Sub-Saharan Africa.

Other social issues, include that prostitution in rampant in India.

Mumbai is known as the Asian city with most rampant prostitution!

In fact prostitution is banned in China.

Oh how funny ... 15 % of India's GDP is manufacturing. And that is equal to 300 Billion $. Just to give you a comparative scale Pakistan's GDP in 2010 was 175 Billion $.

China's per capita is likely 4 times of that of India, and US per capita is 8 times to that of China.
