Communist Party members in a central Chinese province were told Christianity is harmful to their country during a recent seminar.

Religious experts see it as a sign the government is continuing its crackdown on Christianity and other religious minorities, with Christian persecution at historic highs around the world.

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION CLOSE TO 'GENOCIDE LEVELS,' LARGELY IGNORED DUE TO 'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS': REPORT

The Hebi Municipal Radio Administrative Bureau gave a presentation titled "Christianity’s Enormous Harm on China’s Security," to party members in the city of Hebi in China's Henan province, reported ChinaAid, a Christian human rights organization that promotes religious freedom and rule of law in China.

“The Chinese government often views religions, including Christianity, as foreign attempts to undermine its rule, even though there is no evidential basis for such a claim,” the ChinaAid report states. “As a result, they often try to suppress religious adherents, and they openly forbid Communist Party members from practicing a religion.”

The telecommunications agency allegedly encouraged the communist party members to maintain "correct views" about religion and avoid being persuaded by its ideology.

CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION SET TO RISE 'SHARPLY' IN 2019, GROUP WARNS

Hebi Municipal Radio Administrative Bureau in Henan publicly admitted to holding the seminar on its WeChat page before deleting it two days later, the Union of Catholic Asian News (UCAN) reported.

Professor Ying Fuk-tsang, director of the divinity school at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, told UCAN the seminar reflects the stringent controls of ideology through phone and internet networks and he believes President Xi Jinping is highlighting the threat of religion to China.

CHINA’S MISTREATMENT OF CHRISTIANS SHOWS IT CAN’T BE TRUSTED ON A NEW TRADE DEAL

Another Catholic believer named Paul said the Radio Administrative Bureau has linked its business with national security agencies.

"It fears that the number of Chinese Christians exceeds the number of party members and poses a threat to its one-party dictatorship," he said.

The Christian Post reports that China has seen exponential growth in Christian believers since the Cultural Revolution and is set to have the largest Christian population in the world by 2030.

Andrew Boyd, a spokesman for Release International, a U.K.-based charity that helps support persecuted Christians around the world and a partner organization of Voice of the Martyrs, told Fox News China's communist government feels "emboldened because of the lack of protests from the West."

There is a difference between officially atheists and a citizen of a freer society that chooses to be atheists. In an open society, an atheist is someone that has observed and thought about religion and sees religion exercised by others in their own country. So they arrive at their feelings of being atheists from a position of understanding and experiencing other religions. Official atheists are predetermined to be atheists by order of the government and so do not arrive to their being an atheists from the position of understanding and experience but rather as a result of government policy.

But I do have sympathy with China here. The type of Christianity being set up in China is the hardcore Evangelical Church which is in effect a wholly US institution.

They look to the US Evangelicals for all their guidance and will follow their every whim. China does not want this to continue.

Half of my families from my maternity grand parents are Christians, they are the liberal type that will pray and pay homage to our ancestors and the deceased in Buddhist way and folk traditions.

I also have known several converted Christians who called themselves "Born Again Christians". These are the types that I despised because they throw away the traditional bondage between family members and abide strictly to their new found religion.

They refused to pay homage to their parent who passed away, and refused to follow traditional rituals which are cultural rather than religion, refused to knee down in front of their parent's coffin. Anything that is traditional is forbidden. Their parent was not a Christian, so they refused to participate most of the funeral ritual. How disgusting!!!

The Chinese government should release Chinese public voice to
overwhelmed those western propaganda against Chinese policy and Chinese attitude toward those foreign religious invasion.

.
Why is this even worth a write-up? Communists are known for being hostile towards religions. Why do you expect them to say? Christianity is enormously beneficial to society?

I think China believes No law is bigger than china. Chinese citizen should only accept china law. It will encourage unity.

From the article,
“The Chinese government often views religions, including Christianity, as foreign attempts to undermine its rule, even though there is no evidential basis for such a claim,” the ChinaAid report states.
From wikipedia, China Aid - Wikipedia
It is up to you to decide whether there are evidential basis or not. Whether they are purely religious or up to their eyeball in political activism.
