For 5000 years when China was #1 in East Asia, the entire continent of asia prospered including India and Vietnam.

In the 19th century, when China became weak, you think Vietnam benefitted? No! They successively became slaves of France, Japan, the US and the Soviet Union. Only with China's rise since 1990, has Vietnam's economy ALSO started developing.

Talk about revisionist history. You really believe that during those years when China was prominent that China treated Viet Nam with respect, honor and that China protected Viet Nam? Do I really need to show online sources of the wars between the two? You continue to prove what a liar you are.

The Chinese owned your motherland for much of its history. It wasn't a matter of respect but, property treatment.

China is developing its navy at a very fast pace but in my personal opinion it will take decades if not years for China or anyone else for that matter will surpass the absolute world domination that US and her allies namely NATO and others enjoy today.

We should just take a look at the world map. As it stands today US and NATO allies Rule supreme around the world. Where as Russia China India and Brazil represent a very small portion of the world map.

Only possible alternative to the current pattern of domination could be The SCO but the SCO will have to include as its member states the following

1. India
2. Pakistan
3. Afghanistan
4. Iran
5. Srilanka

If all the above mentioned Nation States join the SCO then NATO would have met its match and the world would be truly multi polar as its always used to be.

To Surpass China will need to build :

8+ Nimitz Class or better Carriers
Develop and Build Ohio Clas Subs
Develop Tech and Build something better than Los Angeles Class Subs
Building ONE Nuclear AC , With known Tech carrier Takes 3-5 Years by USN, So 10 Years is Quite Optimistic Forcast, Add to it That You Must have All blueprints Ready from Day 1.
China has the Best navy in Asia.
But to Surpass US they still need to travel a long way.

Ok, I am not sure if this subject here is being discussed for real or its supposed to be just fun only as there is no match and there will be no match in the future between the two navies here.
The Nimitz class you referred to, was 1960's tech. The US kept going with it as the Russians had lost their edge post the Afghan war and there wasn't a real threat from a Naval standpoint. However, the Pentagon's started a bunch of programs since 2000 after considering the Chinese, Indian and Russian expansion plans. There are a few Super Carriers being built CVN-X is the code for the next gen carrier vessels.
These aircraft will house manned, unmanned and hypersonic combat vehicles, not to mention the laser and other highly advanced and sensitive technologies these will have. The Chinese, the Russians or the Indians can build more ships and that's fine as these new ships will always remain for either littoral waters or for power projection to neighbors at a region level. But the concept of the Blue Water Navy doesn't and will not exist. Plus none of these countries have basis away from their home country in large number like the US does.
There is no way that any of these navies, using all their asset ships can go head on with only 25% of the USN CBG force (that's three CBG's I think), let alone all active 7 to 11 at times.
And I am still factoring in current CBG's, the Nimitz class, the 1960's tech in my opinion.
Could people please start to open somewhat realistic threads so that we can actually have a debate....?
