Chinese navy to actively maintain peace and stability of Indian Ocean

China dont have to do much to take over Addaman and Nicobar chain. Just need to throw few missiles, reduce indian installtions of whatever kind to dust and then take over the island at ease. Case closed on indian chocking point dream.

i dont know why but BDs make the best cheerleaders. even pakistanis are not this delusional

Guess this is what passes for strategic thinking in BD.

Untrue. PLA could only survive a short war. It was only a hit and run operation, counting on surprise.
Their non-military supplies had to be routed through Calcutta.. and the used the pretense of "friendship" to stock up.

The "hit-and-run" operation didn't yield results because Nehru refused to accept any of the china's demand.. and as winter approached, PLA could not hold ground without supplies.

If china failed to achieve anything in vietnam as late as 1979 when USA was a china's friend ... PLA has proven only "hit-and-run" even in vietnam.

What's surprising is that.. you don't find germans contesting that they actually won WWII, or japanese that they actually outsmarted US ... or even Pakistanis claiming that they actually won the 1971 war.

It's only chinese who are, basically pleading, that they won a "historic unprecedented" war in 1962.. and achieved that with only 80,000 soldiers fighting against 10,000 indian soldiers.

Well, medieval or.. actually ancient wars (e.g. Chandra Gupta Maurya's army in 300 BC was 100,000 soldiers).

Counting by numbers, 1962 was less than a medieval war, fought at our unmanned border posts.

Yes, we shouldn't have had those unmanned posts, as late as 1962 .. but probably pretense of "friendship" fluked us.

It will be your naviette, to think similar pretense will work for you again and again. Come.. try, if you want to.. come...

From what I understand, the war is caused by the forward policy of Nehru without sufficient forces. As a result, India suffered a major defeat. During the war, Nehru requested American planes to help patrol Indian air space. But was rejected by Kennedy as US was in the middle of Cuban missile crisis. It would be wise to station US troops in India now, with India picking up the tab of station US troops, instead of come begging when you guys suffer another defeat.

kid, like all chinese you tend to grossly underestimate indian military power based on one incident 62 was beat a small group of indian border gaurds who were armed with sticks and stones and ran away when the real counter attack came.

do you see this military ranking?
Global Firepower - 2012 World Military Strength Ranking
back then india was barely at rank 15

In the words of a pakistani analyst:

Till 1965 Pakistan Army keeping in view its equipment and training was relatively superior to the Indian Army. India under Nehru was a peaceful country but the Sino-Indian Conflict of 1962 transformed the whole scenario. Thus while Indian Army had by and large registered no major expansion since 1947 after 1962 the Indians embarked on a highly ambitious expansion programme. It was Pakistan’s good luck that in 1965 this process was at a very rudimentary stage, however by 1971 the whole strategic scenario had changed

the most powerful weapon in the Indian arsenal is its poverty and lack of sanitation. No one wants to invade a country and have no place to go for bathroom and the troops cannot move because they are surrounded by beggars.

but we dont hear about it because chinese official stats are altered

Marc Faber: Chinese Government Statistics Are Fake | ValueWalk

Chinese government statistics are fake for the most part and if Chinese economy is slowing down there will be more money printing in China. the Chinese government economic figures are meaningless, because they are manipulating most of the economic data, which confirms that there is no economic growth in China this year in fact China’s production of steel, cement and electricity as well as the volume of its exports and car sales are stable or declining compared to last year, which is incompatible with the growth announced by the government he explained

China Is a Black Box of Misinformation - Bloomberg
GDP-ism has become the Chinese government’s strongest ideology, and as such might not be an accurate indicator of reality. In the political and economic matrix of China, rosy statistics are the strongest self-justification mechanism for authority.

 India was humiliated in the 1962 war with your best and most equipped soldiers. To make things worse you lost to Pakistan 3 times in war. So yes, Indian military power is grossly exaggerated. The Indian military is still a land army with a few imported fighter jets. Don't kid yourself, indian military wouldn't stand a chance against the PLA. Even a lightly armed PLA would make curry out of the Indian military. For all your boasting, the Indian military has yet to win a single war since your independence from the British.

Both India and China are rising powers in Asia. That said, India has a pair of crucial leads – its Navy and Air Force have advantages in training and equipment that enable India to project power. China is nowhere close to India’s level of experience with carrier aviation, and PLAAF pilots are not as good as India’s. The Chinese have an edge in their army, but that would be easily overcome by India’s naval and air superiority, making India the major power in Asia by a small margin.

India has no navy and Air Force. It's a land army with with a couple of imported planes. The only time India could prove yourself in wars, you lost every one of them. Unless you can prove it in the battlefield and not on paper or in pipe dreams, India will remain a highly primitive military with a couple decent army units. Nothing more, nothing less.

To say PLAAF pilot are not as good as bharti pilots is like saying Iraqi pilots are superior to American pilots. The PLAAF pilots train their a$$ off, they train harder than any Chinese Olympic athlete does. It's not just hard training, it's smart training too. Indian pilots would struggle against Pakistani pilots.

it would be foolhardy to compare the two nations as equals.
India no match for China: Navy chief
Rahul Singh, Hindustan Times
New Delhi, August 11, 2009

Should war break out between India and China, we are doomed. Navy chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta publicly admitted on Monday that India was no match for China and there was no way New Delhi could bridge the yawning gap in its capabilities against China. He said it would be foolhardy to compare the two nations as equals.

Mehta, who retires on August 31 at the age of 62, warned:“In military terms, both conventionally and unconventionally, we can neither have the capability nor the intention to match China force for force…”

It is rare for service chiefs in India to articulate their concerns loudly. The government disapproves of it. But when a chief makes such a prophesy, he has to be taken seriously.

He said Beijing was in the process of consolidating its comprehensive national power and creating formidable military capability.“Once that is done, China is likely to be more assertive on its claims, especially in the immediate neighbourhood,” said Mehta, who as the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, is the country’s senior most military commander.

He saw ominous signs everywhere while delivering a talk on India’s national security challenges on Monday.“Whether in terms of GDP, defence spending or any other economic, social or development parameter, the gap between the two is just too wide to bridge (and getting wider by the day).”

Mehta backed his claims with figures. He said India’s annual defence expenditure of roughly $30 billion paled in front of China’s defence spending. He said the Americans pegged China’s defence budget between $70 billion and $200 billion.

“Our trust deficit with China can never be liquidated unless our boundary problems are resolved…Coping with China will certainly be one of our primary challenges in the years ahead.”

India’s air power just 1/3rd of China: IAF

India’s air power just 1/3rd of China: IAF Zeenews Bureau

Gandhinagar: The Air Chief Marshal PV Naik on Wednesday admitted that India was no match to China when it came to air power.

"Our present aircraft strength is inadequate. Aircraft strength is one third that of China. The Government of India is doing a lot to augment Air Force capability," Naik said.

Interestingly, former Navy chief Suresh Mehta had also, last month, claimed that India is no match to China when it comes to military strength.
