Iron dome is only effective against the short range unsophisticated rockets that Hamas is using. There is no enemy of China that is poised or even likely in the next 25 years to attack China in a similar fashion. There is no other country save Israel that needs, or could justify financially, installing an iron-dome system.

China and the USA could both benefit from a missile defense system against long range ICBM's, but iron dome is not such a system.

It would be a waste of China's defense budget to develop and deploy an iron dome system. China has many more important defense needs, especially more blue water navy assets.
