Really we have a right to send carriers where ever we please as long as they are not in in territorial waters, if China wants a war, so be it.

May be your don't know the fact about Chinese .more than 90% support the goverment aginist USA if AC come yellow sea .you can say someone mad ,is it 90% chinese all mad ? Chinese afraid war？At 1950 we had nothing we also fought the Korea war .for the Vietnam war Deng said we would fight for fifty years peace .There is time for now . We want paece to develop our ecomy ,but Chinese also wait for a war every minute. USA need to concern the main Chinese opinions .AS a PLA general said inside the fist island chain we can beat any enemy. They only like to fight weak countries like Vietnam. (And they LOST, lol.) Now Afghanistan...

Also, the USA said they would not help Taiwan if they declared independence anyway.

Even if Taiwan declares independence, China won't do anything. I wish good luck to our Taiwanese comrades, whichever path they choose.

That was decades ago when we were weak, yet we still managed to beat you in India easily.

There should be peace in Asia, China/Pakistan/India have more to gain from being friends than from being enemies.

Our nations were friends for thousands of years. We should try to regain this sense of ancient friendship between our nations, so that we can greet the new century as friends rather than enemies!

US "lost" Vietnam because it has no real general like Patton or McArthur who can take the fight to the enemy at that time. No matter how power was the US, with the strategy, the US will lost 100% of hte time.

As for China/Vietname war in 1979. China didn't win. If you want to measure the territories gain and given back. Then China "win". But it you want to look at strategic issue. China lost big time as Vietnam didn't withdraw from Cambodia. Its not like the Chinese victory against India in 1962 where the Indian army was aboliterated.
