We don't have to endorse what the Chinese do.
Likewise we don't care that Indians don't mind starving as long as they can continue to yap freely.
Different people got different priorities and preference and who are we to tell them otherwise.
The Chinese have their reasons for their actions and they don't need Indians abetting the West in criticizing them.
Singapore have detention without trial, but we are not in the crosshairs of the US because we are buddies with them.

Chia Thye Poh, Singapore’s Longest-Held Political Prisoner, Is Now Nobel Peace Prize Nominee
The man who spent 22 years behind bars
Chia Thye Poh, now 74, was arrested and detained under the Internal Security Act on on 29 Oct 1966 for conducting pro-communist activities against the government. He spent 22 years in jail, mostly in solitary confinement,
without charge or trial until 1989.
Is it right to squash political dissent this way.?
Apparently we Singaporeans don't make much noise over it.
Why the US did not help to give him the Nobel Peace prize.?
Or fund lots of headlines and protest like for China's Ai Wei Wei or Liu Xiaobo.?
Your energies criticizing China are better put to solving India's coming major unemployment problems.
