What's new

China's first made passenger jet

depends on how many you will make, for the time being, the comfirmed order is 278 for ARJ, and 490 for C919,

and you should notice, China is socialism country, the Comac is commerical company but supported by whole nation if you can read its capital structure and its loan obtaining, China don't fear the failure, China fear she don't have such ability.

Certainly, when we can make it, we will make it very efficiently just as we have done with CRH.

Sure! And I do believe the Comac will flourish due to the shear market in China. I sincerely wish the best for China's regional jets, here's to successful performance to Asian regional jets ! ;)

Japan's Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) is set to compete as well. Let's give Boeing , Airbus a run for their money. ;)

You must be kidding, Japan's aerospace industry is basically a toddler in front of the US.

I know you guys are proud with your Toyota and Honda, but this is nothing like the auto industry.

PS, your nation is still a vassal state to the US, and the US will do anything to suppress you guys in the high end tech domain like this.

Negative, negative, all negative. Everything coming from your mouth is all negative.

Don't be too subjective, Tiger. Clear your mind, think extraperipherally.

Mitsubishi Regional Jet already has over 223 orders; coming from 7 different airlines. On to a good start, actually.

I was speaking about the reality.

You guys make good car, it is true. But when it comes to the aerospace industry, then it is another story.

Our domestic auto industry is 100 times sh1ttier than the South Korean one, but when it comes to the aerospace industry and the space program, we are 100 times ahead of them.

See, I am totally honest here.

Japan hasn't showed anything exceptional in her aerospace industry.

Well domestic problems including Cultural Revolution did contribute to the cancellation i suppose.

It has nothing to do with the cultural revolution.

This airplane was designed during the period of the cultural revolution by 1970, but it got cancelled in the early 1980s.

China had cancelled this project to leave more room for the economic reform. For example, to improve the living standard by reducing the military budget.

But it was doing to the extreme direction. During the early era of the economic reform, there was a popular slogan like this; "we will rather make the tea eggs than making the rockets."

Don't you think the revolution had an impact on China's economy which led to some needed reforms in the 80s so the Y-10 project had to be cancelled?

Hyundai hire a lot of former Bmw, Audi and Toyota engineers and designers. The important aspects of the car are not designed and engineered by Koreans but mainly foreigners that left other car companies. At least when China comes out with something I am 100% sure that it is mainly made by Chinese. That is the main reason why the western paper do not talk bad things about korean cars. In reality they are still not even being close to as good as Japs.

Look at the Chinese-Israeli Qoros car venture. The westerners praise it because it's not all Chinese. Their top executives and designers are foreigners, built by Chinese workers. That's how they do it. Just like they don't criticize Toyota and Honda because they provide high paying jobs for white folks in their country.

Not true, Japan is miles ahead in aviation than you think, just like China, they make aircraft structures for Aerospace giants like bombardier

Y-10 was the legacy of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou, but it got destroyed by the liberals under the rule of Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang.

Those liberals were trying to appease the US by deindustrializing China when they took in power. And Deng was also naive for trusting them. However, Deng had finally redeemed himself by sacked the leadership from Hu Yaobang and Zhao Ziyang and to prevent them to do any further damage to China.

The 1989 event was basically a retaliation from those liberal forces when their leaders got fired.

See, those liberal Trojan horses are always the biggest danger to China, and the US will keep sending those fifth column groups with the attempt to deindustrialize China at any cost.

Apart from the fuselage, wings and tailplane nearly everything else is imported. The Chinese will need 5-10 years to make the plane fully indigenous.

Not so much. 65 percent of the whole plane are indigenous made.

Miles ahead? I still remember Japan brag about C-2 being the largest aircraft built and design in Asia. Suddenly China Y-20 appear and everybody knows which is the largest plane build and design in Asia. The Japanese keep quiet and stop using their previous stance.

That's all they can make.

Compared to the American-Japan auto rivalry, and in the aerospace domain, we can see the absolute dominance from the US.

Canada has an impressive aviation and software industry , definitely. Canada is largely deprived of some of its accomplishments , an example is Canada's impressive biomedical and pharmaceutical field. :)

One thing for sure, passenger airplane booming market is in China right now. We control the market with many state owned airline. They will be asked by state to buy domestic airplane no matter what outcome of the airplane. It a sure win situation. But that cannot be say for Japan. The booming market is not in their domestic control. IF they go overseas , they still need to compete with embraced, Airbus and Boeing.

COMAC aircraft is safe in China market. They are free from competition.
