Christian missionaries doing that in India with funds from abroad illegally = cool

Govt sending a delegation to learn how to spread Xtianity = very very cool.

every government has rogue elements. the next 10 years will be hard but afterwards we will see a flowering of atheism, socialist culture and the new man of the 21st century.

Just answer a simple question:Why is atheist Sweden and Singapore much richer than highly religious Uganda and Philippines, both devout Christian nations?

Why is God richly rewarding infidels and punishing his believers so harshly?

Mr. FairAndUnbiased, Sir,

I am surprised at you asking such a question. Don't you know that "belief" is a matter of faith, not reason? My answer is the same as that most religious people will give: God's plan is beyond human comprehension. You can not argue or reason your way to belief. Sorry. You have not been blessed with faith. Sad, but true.

But how come they be rogue elements when they are doing this openly..? If they are rogue elements then will not the higher echelons of CPC come down hard upon them, typically executing them in the middle of the night by a firing squad ?

Spoken like a "true believer"! (In the divinity of man ...., the "new" Commie improved model, of course.)

OK let's make a small bet buddy, in one years time... we'll look at the most powerful person in China and India respectively.

(Currently that is Hu Jintao for China, and Sonia Gandhi for India, according to Forbes).

What do you think are the odds, that India's highest leader will still be a European Christian, and China's highest leader will still be a Chinese Atheist at that time?

high tech and magic is indistinguishable to the low tech peoples.

imagine in ancient Egypt, where one had a hard stone, yet its surface was soft. it was transparent on one side, and you could touch this stone. after writing some things on this stone, and waiting a day, some goods would appear at your door.

This is not the power of just a pharoah. This is the power of a god.

It is also the power of any smartphone on sale for a few hundred dollars that can access Amazon.com.

Humans aren't divine but we might as well be to all the other animals out there. And if there are aliens with higher tech than we have, they would be divine to us too.

No single religion can EVER dominate China. China is a multi-religion country. Certain religion may be on fashion for a little while. However, it will settle down to stable stage.

...

First they copied western technologies, then western cities and now, western religions

I don't think there is even the faintest hope of "victory" here over this army of never-ending supply of silly goons from the land of baboos. Just surrender and beg for mercy.

On a serious note, whenever governments or other "earthly powers" try to "co-op" religion, the "faithful" should be on reasonable alert.

It's hard to mesh PRC's worldly goals with believers' spiritual objectives.

whenever fantasy and reality conflict, fantasy will lose.

That may very well turn out to be the case, ePhone. As they say, "Lord knows ..."

I like that ... even without the "Confucius says" prefix ...

@Chinese-Dragon

Lame attempt @ flame baiting. The topic is China, not sonia. So be on topic.

My question again..if they are rogue elements why is the CPC not cracking down upon them..? Is it because of the policy that if you cannot defeat someone join them..Have they realized, after unsucessful attempts at clamping down, that xtianity cannot be banned in China and so regulating it now ?

This I seriously don't like. Whenever we come across this Trotskitish "New Speak", our hearts sink.

People usually die, many of them, whenever there is a project to make "New Man". PRC's own experience is proof enough unfortunately.

As far as I am concerned, the New Testament already made New Man.

they are being cracked down on but it is never done in public. Look at Wang Lijun. He tried defecting and he got a free plane ride to Beijing escorted by the vice-minister of State Security himself.

No one needs to make a New Man. The New Man has already been incubating for 18 years since 1993. It is a natural process.

The New Man I am talking about of course is the networked and informationized man of the 21st century, and radically different from the chess pieces that governments dealt with before the 90's. The next step is for the networked, informationized man to assume not only the freedoms but the responsibilities of this newfound power.

After comparing all the stories about different religions, I found Buddhism is the least self-arrogant and more of ancient wisdom but no more than high school physics.
