Though there is no doubt that the Uighurs are aggrieved over the curb on Islam in Xinjiang and thereby giving themselves the reason to uphold Islam by force and thereby going against the country i.e. China, yet they mistake China to be Pollyannas who will brook nonsense that other countries accept.
For China, religion is no great shake. If one has to practice their religion, be it Islam or Christianity, then it has to be Chinese interpretation of Islam and Christianity. There can be no religious teaching that go against the Chinese philosophy that the State is supreme and that the State knows best (the ancient theory of Legalism of China).
While from the international point of view, what is happening in XInjiang made not appeal, yet from the Chinese point of view, it is absolutely correct.. It maybe said, in all fairness to the Chinese, they do not discriminate on grounds of religion, any effort attempted to destabilise China.
Therefore, China's action, maybe harsh, but it is the only way to handle those who wish to destabilise China. The State is Supreme and not religion! Nation first and then such abstract issues a religion is what they preach.
There is no doubt that if all countries follow China's example, then terrorism will find no place in the world.
But then, one has to jettison all this pollyanna thoughts of human rights and all that!
