To be fair Bangladesh depends on RMG a little too much. Bangladesh top 4 exports crochet clothing, textiles, woven fabric, accessories, clothing, etc.. make up for 91-92% of its exports. For it to make these products its imports$5 bil worth of cotton it can't produce itself. Incredibly around$6 bn is also trade deficit of the state. Its exports for few years now around 41 to 42 bn even after giving worst wages and exploiting millions of workers. Bangladesh is not making cars or Integrated circuits. One Pakistani Chinese JV company has started making laptops [Haier]
Bangladesh per capita is 1466 [projected this year], Pakistan's is 1641 even after its economy is 10 years in the freezer. Pakistan does'nt need to import cement or cotton. Even One TRump induced tariff on clothing can rock the boat of Bangladeshi economy.
Where did you pull this from?
BD garment exports are around 80% of total exports. High
but other sectors are growing as fast.
If 4 million workers are guaranteed a minimum salary of nearly 100 dollars a month, then long may this "exploitation" continue.
What you do not know is that the domestic drug and electronics markets are dominated by BD companies - this creates tens of thousands of high paying jobs and saves billions in foreign currency.
BD economy is more diversified than at first glance.
