Xinhua News Agency, Lhasa, June 3 (Reporter Luo Bo, Bai Shaobo) In the early summer season, Yadong County, located in the deep mountains of the Himalayas, is crowded with people. The 34-year-old Tibetan boy, Pubu, is busy greeting guests in his grocery store. Pubu and this small town on the Sino-Indian border are welcoming the busiest season of the year.

Located in the eastern side of the Himalayas, Tibet Yadong County is adjacent to India and is an important node in the historical “Silk Road” south line. The county is about 4,500 meters above sea level, Nathula Mountain Pass, which is China's traditional land trade route to South Asia.

In July 2006, the closed channel of the Yadong County, which was closed for a reason, was reopened. In 2013, Pubu came to Yadong to start a border trade business. In less than two years, he changed from a small shop owner to a "big boss" in the eyes of his peers.

Pubu said that he imported shawls, bronzes and perfumes from the border trade market, some of which were sold in Yadong County. Most of them were sold to Lhasa, and the annual net profit could be five or six hundred thousand yuan. “In order to facilitate business, I bought 3 trucks and opened a store.”

The Yadong Nathu Border Trade Market is open from the beginning of May to the end of November each year. Like all the people, Pubu will purchase a large amount of goods during this period, and then use the rest of the market for a few months to sell the goods to Lhasa.

Although all the floors of the small building were turned into warehouses, due to too many purchases, the three-bedroom and two-bedrooms on the second floor of the Pubu home, including the kitchen, were also full, and the colorful Indian candy was sprinkled on the aisle. A family of three had to squeeze in the store to stay.

The average merchant is most afraid of the backlog of goods, but this is not a problem for Pubu. He told reporters that all of his goods are worth more than 600,000 yuan. They can be sold out before the market opens every year, and then buy new products.

Recently, at the first border trade tourism and cultural festival in Yadong County, the dazzling array of Chinese and Indian products attracted thousands of customers to purchase. Yasang Bazin was the first merchant to start import trade in the early period of the recovery of Nathu La Border Trade. He witnessed the changes brought about by the opening of Yadong County.

“The road conditions leading to Nathula in the past few years were very poor. With the support of the state, road traffic in Yadong County has been greatly improved, and businessmen from both countries are more convenient to do business.” Ba Sang said that the Nathu Lama border trade channel Since the restoration, the border people of India and China have gained a lot. "Many Indian businessmen have also built new houses and bought several cars."

The border trade market near the Nathula Pass is more than 4,000 meters above sea level, and the area is small. In the past few years, in order to facilitate the trade between the two countries' border people, Yadong County invested nearly 70 million yuan in the open area near the county town to rebuild a new border trade market. Guo Ting, deputy director of the Yadong County Bureau of Commerce, said that there are 194 shops in the new market, with an area of 13,000 square meters and 40 or 50 types of traded goods.

In recent years, Tibet has made every effort to expand its opening up to the outside world, promote the accelerated development of the export-oriented economy, and actively integrate into the “Belt and Road”. Nima Dunzhu, president of the Nathu Lag Chamber of Commerce in Yadong County, said: "I believe that as China's openness is further improved, China-India-Israel border trade cooperation will be further deepened, and the lives of border people in both countries will get better and better."
