2008 Olympics - 118 participating countries did not win a medal. Athletes from China won 51 gold medals, the most of any nation at these Olympics, China will be remembered for its sporting brilliance that dazzled the world with its brilliance and showcased the might of modern day Chinam - the new ’superpower’ in sports!

only US media (CNN, ABC, Foxnews..) counts the USA as number 1

Just want to say so ashamed on USA, for such a big country, act like twat, changing the way of ranking suddenly just to make themselves look better, the way of ranking use from 1896! After I read the news from Japan and Hong Kong about USA media change the ranking method, i just laugh, what if next Olympic china total no of medals and gold medals both win USA?? what will CNN do then?? Making other news to say china use tricks?? Why CNN & US media don't hear the noise from international?

Nevertheless, the American media heavily highlighted the Chinese accomplishments in 08, including their landslide in number of gold medals.

To my fellow Americans,

This is another reason why we Americans cannot face reality that we are not #1 in terms of our performance in the 2008 Olympics. The country that has the most gold medals is always ranked #1 ( 1st ). Therefore, China ranks #1. Our country USA ranks #2. But, we decided to change the rules to make it looked like we are leading by changing the tally method------- that is whoever has the most medals is ranked #1. How pathetic.
