I think its the South Asian family dynamic that drives South Asians in America (Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans) to go into the sciences field , and do so competitively.

I think Indians are a bunch of Little Fingers. Start from zero and climb up the ladder of success.

IMHO, one of the reasons I think that explains the success of South Asian diaspora and the failure in their home countries is that, one section of the society has an inferiority complex by seeing the success of west so they have thrown out the Asian values altogether (this applies to upper class and middle class) and the rest have an uninvolved version of Asian values that come with all kinds of undesirable bonuses and they are super conservative (this applies to lower class). And it is generally the middle and upper classes that move out of the country. When they move out, all of a sudden, they find that the western values of putting too much emphasis on individuality, are not very superior after all. So they retain or adapt the positive aspects of Asian values. Another important point is that, in most cases. no matter how liberal an Asian is, he/she always values education when compared to other races. I think what differs East Asians from rest of the Asians is that, East Asians have managed to adapt a much evolved version of Asians values at home countries, to fit with the needs of the modern world when compared to the half boiled egg in other parts of Asia. So I think East Asia represents the true Asian collectivist values.

Fake news, there are more than 10% of the US population are Latinos which are mainly Mexicans, while the Chinese-Americans only make up less than 1% of the total US population.

Meanwhile the birth rate of the Chinese-Americans are extremely low just like many other Asian-Americans.

Why so many Chinese want to live in America? Can anyone tell me the reason(s)?

Most people who come here don't leave...so we must be doing something correct.

Could be opportunity, clean air, clean water, green everywhere, good pay, have your own piece of property with your home in the middle (your home is your castle mentality) with as many amenities as you wish, not as much crime as what is portrayed in the media, and rather laid back.

You come home, put your feet up, and relax.

It's been this way for a long time. I have had a car since I was 17 (I had 3 at one point), my wife has a car, my father and mother have cars and a house, their parents had cars and houses too.

Come on man, China is still a developing country(though some here think its a rich developed super power already.lol), while the west/U.S are already developed countries with much more higher standard of living, better environment(air. food, luxury etc), better educational facilities/universities, higher HDI, open/inclusive society reason we still attract the most skillful/smartest,wealthy citizens all over the globe. They know they have a better opportunity of not only having a better life here with their money compared to back home, but also even having citizenship, as they see a foreign passport as an insurance policy in case things go badly wrong in China(china doesnt give ciizenship/permanent stay to any foreigner, no matter how skillful/smart/wealthy/patriotic you might be).

Dont also forget that chinese people have always been travelling overseas. Ironically China's communist revolution was led, after all, by intellectuals schooled in Europe. What's new is that they are planning to leave the country in its ascendancy though. More and more talented Chinese are well aware that their country is as @Beidou puts it an 'emerging superpower', but funny enough deciding, nevertheless, that they're better off elsewhere(i.e the so called insignificant evil west.lol ). lol This kind of reminds me of the flight of rich chinese from Hong Kong before the 1997 handover of our former colony back to China. lol

So in short, ANYBODY(especially new found rich people) with money will emmigrate away from his country, if he thinks he will have a better life for him and his children overseas in the west rather than his home country. So we shouldnt just pick on the Chinese, many other developing countries wealthy officials/citizens also act the same way, Russia, India, Africa, Latinos etc. Many of them immigrate to the west/U.S.

Many Chinese are of white collar management type in the US. Go to any store, bank, and large retail chain, you will see almost half of bank lending manager, store manage are either Chinese or Asian origin
