China should 'reconsider' who owns Okinawa: state media

Shows how little you know about the history of Liuqiu。

Listen dude, even the Americans don't recognize Japan's sovereignty over the Liuqiu Islands。

The Americans illegally passed the administrative rights over the chain of Islands to the Japs in early 1970s to entice the latter to counter the Soviet Union。

of couse they would.becase that area wasn't captured by Japan during WW II,did they??it became a part of japan 400 years ago..I posted the history of that island.you might find it useful to clear your doubts.

okinawa was controlled by china in ming dynasty. china was former suzerain of okinawa at that time.

what we reconsider now is the rules after WW2

I already said that.the rulers of Japan became vassals and that island became part of japan in 1609..tell me,how far into the history you want to go to grab the lands???is 400 years enough??even then it was part of Japan.

After WWII, Japan give up their sovereignty over Okinawa/Ryuku as part of their term of surrender. The territory was passed over to US trusteeship administration in 1945.

Central theme of Chinese History understanding is that "Once other country territories became part of China (through conquest of course), it will remain part of China for eternities~ all foreign countries that regain back their territories from China are evil imperialists!"

Okinawa is just the tip of an iceberg;

This is the true vision of "Great Unified China" the Chinese ultranationalist aim for:

Slowly but sure, they will find excuses through bogus historical interpretation to justified their claims.

Okinawa is part of Japan before WWII by conquest.

After WWII, the victor countries established a new world order through the setting up of United Nation.

Japan has to give up all the territories she gained by imperialist conquest including Okinawa/Ryuku, The island of Taiwan, Korean peninsular, Thailand, French Indochina(Vietnam), Singapore, Dutch East Indies(Indonesia).

Other interpretation by Past Chinese Nationalist Government regarding Unified China:

Title: "China Humiliation Map"
Yellow = Actual control by China
Red Dash = Occupied by Japan
Orange Dash = Occupied by British
Green Dash = Occupied by France
Purple Dash = Occupied by Soviet Union

Red Numbers indicate the time China Lost its territories

can't see the picture :(

They say that the US was planing to hand over Okinawa from Japan to China, but 蔣介石 refused it.
Stupid KMT.

The US invited ROC(KMT) as one of the victor nations to station troop and jointly administer Okinawa/Ryuku. The KMT is too busy with political/administrative problems back at home in mainland China. China is war ravaged and is in serious economic trouble. It cannot afford to spare anything to help the Okinawan.

right buddy..but even then, they should decide which empire they should consider as "China"..because present China is the 3rd largest, apart from Qing and Yuan dynasty. If they consider Ming Dynasty, they they have to give up half of China.you can't take best of every dynasty.you have to choose.look at this..

Yes~ this is called "expansionism" in disguise; China justified their expansion by claiming it is part of China, they didn't not "invade" or "conquer" other countries, just "take back" what was theirs.
By doing this, they could in other hand condemned Japan and America as Imperialists while in the same time justified its own expansion.
