China’s Fight For Supremacy And India’s Subtle Rise – Analysis

^ Anna means elder brother in most Indian languages.

LOL, I have nothing against democracies. In fact, I think Switzerland and Canada are two of the best countries in the world.

Those are democracies that take care of their people, and who could find fault in that.

Democracies in the developing world are a mixed bag however, Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, India, etc. Let the results speak for themselves, to see how well those democracies are being implemented.

China is doing well now because it embraces capitalism. Western Europe is not doing all that hot because of socialism. When the government offers up free things to people, the people would get lazy and the economy would go down the drain. US is gradually shifting to a socialist society. As matter of fact, US is probably more socialist now with a socialist/communist president. This guy is so radical that he would fit in with the gang of 4 and make it a gang of 5.

China, on the other hand, its shifting toward a market economy. That is when you see a 10% annual growth.

India, on the other hand, its confused between a socialist and market economic under the current regime. Hopefully, they sort it out soon.

anna means big brother in south india

The US is a military reg|ime led by the oligarchy of CIA, Wall Street bankers, arms merchants, military generals and the Federal g-ov-ern-ment kleptocrats.

It is just as democratic as China is today. In China, when we protest and go on strike, our demands are met. We can win. There is no such thing as winning a strike or protest in the US. Winning counts not as demands met, but no injuries or deaths from police crackdowns.

actually small things are not necessary for your knowledge ..thats the reason why i used IQ.

Does India's IQ jump by two points when you left India? I wonder how you can come to America? Are you a bus boy in your uncle's restaurant? I like Indo Chinese food. Does he have one of those restaurant?

Care to share a country which adopted the democratic sys after becoming developed?
Today almost all developed countries in the world are democracies(some with hint of monarchy) and all of them were still developing when they changed over to democratic sys of govt.

Name 1 non-white democratic country that was developed while they were a democracy.

The only person that can stop US from sliding even further is Dr Ron Paul. He would bring fiscal responsibility to America and end the current occupying wall street regime in the white house. He will also bring home the troops, close oversea bases and encourage free trade.

I don't think who becomes president even matters anymore. It hasn't mattered for the past 50 years and it sure as hell isn't going to start mattering now.

East Asia is of course the best example. South Korea, Taiwan, etc. Even Singapore and Hong Kong are classified as advanced economies, yet today neither one is a full democracy.

In Hong Kong, I can't vote for my top leaders, we don't have universal suffrage. Top leaders are appointed by Beijing. Yet my living standards and average income are 30 times higher than that of India.

Hong Kong has the 2nd highest life expectancy in the world, and an HDI ranking that is higher than Britain, France, UK, Finland, etc. We were classified as an "advanced economy" a long time ago.

Now tell me, who here would be prepared to give that up, in order to live in the shining democracy that is India? Personally I would prefer to keep my first-world living standards in Hong Kong, rather than live in shining democratic India (which has more poverty than Africa).

Its not the skin color issue. But the culture issue. Its more appropriate to use the term "western" countries because Russians are certainly white but not western and they had achieved their highest degree of development under Stalin and Khrushchev. None of these two are democratically elected.

Russia is a great nation that shows that "democracy" is a big fat lie and that real democracy comes from being powerful.

if the US was as poor as the Congo and USSR won, then everyone would be talking about the greatness of communism and how it was always destined to win over decadent, inefficient capitalism.

winners write the textbooks.

In a democracy, it only take one visionary leader to make a difference if he is capable of leading the country. I believe Ron Paul has the right ideas but I'm not sure if he has the leadership ability.

To have freedom, one needs wealth and power. Because its the wealth and power that provide us with options to be "free" in our sense of definition. And as you said, the winner write the text books. And its the winner that defines the term "freedom"
