Besides, Saudi arabia is the most backward country in the world. whats with the lashes, no cinema theaters or female drivers. This country still clearly thinks that women should cook, clean, look after kids and satisfy their men without any questions.

Interesting read however Saudi Arabia is still in the USA sphere of influence they been that way,Saudi-China relations are ok at best nowhere close to the China-Pakistan relations. if Saudis want to come closer to us they are free to build stronger relations with us.

After CIA assassinated king Faisal and installed Fahad he worked as their man in KSA turning this country into what you people perceive. King Abdullah on then other hand is from the other faction of the ruling family. Like all countries we have factions in the ruling elite who are bitter rivals. Right now the faction in control is not a US compliant one instead it is looking after the country the way it should be. Our development is off the charts and so far they have been successful in reversing the damage done by the other faction over the years (they ruled for close to 30 years so it was a lot of damage).

Low pop country (relative to giants) with just natural resources, with no World-famous industry/science/etc, cant become superpower, sorry Mosa. I dont believe other ME regional powers like Turkey or Iran will become superpowers either, and yet they are far better suited for it than SA.

And GCC is a very powerful body diplomatically and economically and soon militarily as well. And the Saudi Chinese alliance is very real. We are closer to China now than we ever been. Chinese premier is having a trip here soon. Cameron is in KSA right now to (bolster-ties). East and west is fighting over us lol.
