China rescued cargo ship hijacked by Somali pirates with other navies

First of all, that news is completely false. Media in China did report the efforts made by India.

Second of all, I do wonder the reason as to why their media would lie so blatantly. What could be their agenda?

Its a torture to read from Google Translate. Roughly it says the Chinese use powerful telescopes and Infrared(thermal devices?) to check out the vessel before boarding. There is a mention of the Indian helicopter but nothing of the 2 Indian warships and no sight of them anywhere nearby. More likely its a case of sour grapes and I wonder why didn't the Indian Navy offer to sent a boarding team and rightfully claim some credit, unless they arrived after the rescue operation is already underway.

The only thing the Indian side provided was a helicopter circling around the cargo ship according to the Indian sources. Now they want to take some credit for it

It was nice working in tandem, thank you. :coffee:

I don't really see what the big deal is that China is acting like a kid.

Instead of promoting this as an instance of confidence building measure between both countries and what we can do together, your regime is acting like an 8 year old who did his first Arts class.

What is the indian navy doing in Gulf of Aden? They should be near the geographically unimportant and insignificant land of india.

India is a part of a multi-national cooperation initiative to jointly patrol the Gulf of Aden region; this is because a lot of trade ships of all countries passes through that region which have been targeted by pirates.

Which is why even Chinese, Pakistani and Italian warships were there, genius.

Exactly bro, here's from "People Daily" also nothing with Indian navy, Indian friends should be able to provide some evidence to clear this mystery case

Chinese navy rescues Tuvaluan ship from pirates in Gulf of Aden

BEIJING, April 9 (Xinhua) -- The convoy fleet sent by the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy rescued a Tuvaluan ship hijacked by pirates in the Gulf of Aden on Sunday local time.

The navy said in a statement that its 25th convoy fleet, which was conducting the escort mission in the Gulf of Aden and waters off Somali at the time, received report of the hijack of the ship OS35 at around 5 p.m. Saturday. The fleet's vessel Yulin set out for the area immediately.

After some reconnaissance and having contacted with the ship's crew, rescue operation started early Sunday morning.

A group of 16 members from the navy's special force boarded OS35 and rescued the 19 crew members.

The statement said all the 19 crew members were under the protection of the Chinese navy, and soldiers carried out a thorough search of the ship to clear possible security threat.

I agree with you on working in tandem. Your statement on China is really uncalled for. Members here are merely asking for evidence on the contribution from the Indian Navy. From my limited understanding from Google Translate, there is no highlight of Indian contribution to the rescue but more importantly there is no put down. No media headlines like " India Navy watch idly by while China rescue Hijacked Ship " or " China rescue Hijacked Ship while Indian Navy watched afar " or similar, like how the Indian press who are the childish ones. I think maybe the Indian Navy are embarrassed by how the Indian press are working up this small tiny issue. Initially there were comments praising the participation of the various navies in this incident until this ridiculous reporting by Indian press. Your negative comments are also not helpful but you may have responded this way after being bombarded. It happens, and all goodwill vanish, haha. On hindsight you will most probably realize its storm in a teacup.

Sounds like Indians took no action but want thecredit. Last time, they sank a Thai fishing boat and were embarrassed. This time, they were still tried to figure out the national origin of the ship when Chinese navy rescued the ship.

So an appropriate headline would be "Chinese navy rescued hijack ship while Indian navy attempted to verify the origin of the ship"

As nothing is more embarrassing than misidentified a ship and then attack a fishing vessel. So Indian Navy were doing their best to identify the ship. I sympathize as India had view Venus as a Chinese drone, we need to give India more time to identify things. So India should get credit for trying to identify the vessel.

Haha. Its it true? I believe it considering they took so many years to buy the Rafale fighter jets. Also with their recent multiple Naval mishaps, the Indians may want to be more careful. Very funny, hahaha.

Apparently, it seems. Because after latest blowing and glowing of their naval assets, I really lost faith
If india has evidence, it should present to the world.
Guys remember "sir jee kal parson" strikes ;)
similarly footage or pic of indian navy fighting the pirates of Somalia won't be shown either in the NATIONAL INTEREST

It is serious question and you should answer it honestly with some evidence.

Indian Navy didn't misidentified Chinese ships as pirates and tried to attack the Chinese ships. India needs praise for that. It would be tougher to fend off Indian ships while trying to rescue the cargo ship.

So India deserve credit for not hindering the rescue.

That's another Fake story. There is nothing mentioned about this in Pakistani media. India media and authorities have a history of making cooked up stories about Pakistan.

That's because they came in to capture some fishing trawlers and attempt to hold them hostage. Apparently there was a freak accident and out of 6, 4 died. 2 were found alive and about to drown which the ICG caught.

Are you really that bad at trolling or have you lost practise?

Sit in the U.S. and still consume propaganda news from the CCP? lol. If China thought to garner some international accolade from this, it backfired. International news is reporting that Chinese acted pettily. No special forces go into a situation like this without air cover and that's precisely what the Indian helicopter provided.

The Indian Coast Guard should be commended for their effort. Its unfortunate they were not able to save all. I don't see any post saying the Indians are unhelpful or unprofessional. One side will give thanks, which they did, and the other side accept with grace and show their sympathy for the dead. Regrettably it soon erupt into a pissing contest.

According to @Areesh its not important enough to be published in the Pakistani media. But he did see a news clipping on some channel, or so he claims.
