China should set up in the Sichuan region:

1. coubty-wise siren system which alarms every county secs after any quake

2. emergency explosives for every firefighting team, wich which they can blow up rocks that block the main roads after each quake

3. standard anti 7.5 quake housing for everyone since now on

Lu Shan county survivors got electric power and temporary tents to rest at night.

Tian Quan county where close to Lu Shan county, whole residents and wounded ppl living in temporary tents in county hospital.

4.20 night the rescure still continue.

Sichuan, unfortunately, is on the Himalayan Seismic belt. Many part of the terrain in Sichuan also tends to cause secondary damage via landslide. Fortunately, this earthquake is not as powerful as the 2008 earthquake. So the damage should be less. Right now thousands of PLA soldiers have already reached the scene, so the rescue progress should be okay.

very impressive quick response. in China you can really count on those soldiers to come rescue you in such disasters. in Hurricane Katrina, the US soldiers were only responsible for keeping people from looting the stores and killing each other.
