India is a major threat to Pakistan and China too.

As an American, I'm not afraid to say that the only true threat to Pakistan, China and India is the US. Only US has capabilities to destroy all these three countries. Its not that US would choose to do such a thing, but US is the only one that has the ability.

well, the peace of the world is maintain by America. That is why we are still living in the age of Pax Americana in world history. America is the one country that maintains world peace.

2050 is quite a long time, why not 2040 or 2060? The reason is that India is still far away from being a superpower and no one really know when if it can be a superpower. That is why people come up with number that is far away.

I have been in this forum for a few years. And day in day out, no nationality talk about being a superpower than the Indians in here. They don't see this term as a negative connotation, but a badge of honor.

I always wonder why Indians want to be a superpower, its it because US is misguidedly waging war every where. (I'm a supporter of Ron Paul, BTW) and India want to wage war like Americans. These Indians playing too much video games and saw that America is playing it for reals so they want to be Americans?

Or is it because that they realize the British, the superpower when they conquered India, oppressed them with their power. They hate being oppressed by the British, but they in their mind want to be like the British and oppress others. This is the more likely scenario since Indians are carrying on a 2nd hand imperialist policy.

Yes for this exact reason they are threat not only to Pakistan and small countries in asia like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh but also to Britain, they want to become super power to oppress the britishers for what they did to indian 100 years ago, they demand the whole money the UK stole from india also they demanded their kohinoor diamond back but at present their dream is nowhere to be seen.

In China, the word "superpower" contains negative connotations left over from the Cold War. There are no obsessions with the word superpower here like there are in India.
